Comments for FTP backups
May it could be great for a next release of Plesk, that comments could be display in the backups list from the start! Correctly comments for backups on the remote FTP server can not be viewed.
3 votesVerified that in Plesk Obsidian the Backup Manager lists all show the comments that were stored in the backup set.

backup keeps failing disk space
I have a 100gb ssd drive server. I have 64% of it used. I am no longer able to perform backups as it creates an error on starting the backup. There must be a way to do the backup site by site and then have the backup deleted after a successful transfer. I have setup the backup to a remote ftp server.

Integrate fullbackup.php into Plesk UI
I am posting this here because the dedicated KB page for the script fullbackup.php (https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/213949545-Plesk-Server-Backup-Script) refers to a forum page that no longer exists (https://talk.plesk.com/threads/plesk-server-backup-script.247563/)
Plesk server-wide backups run into space & memory problems, so you developed the fullbackup.php utility.
Fullbackup.php just works, but being an "external" tool, its configuration (--per-domain etc), execution and output (the generated backup) are not recognized by Plesk UI.
You can have a 10-GB successful server-wide backup in the /dumps directory, generated by fullbackup.php: Plesk will ignore it and tell you that there are no backups.
I suggest that fullbackup.php is…
1 voteThis fullbackup.php script was developed many years ago for old Plesk versions where this script was really actual.
Since then, the backup manager has been very seriously redesigned and the best solutions from this old script have been included.
You can use pleskbackup utility with server option as alternative of this old script https://docs.plesk.com/en-US/onyx/cli-linux/using-command-line-utilities/pleskbackup-backing-up-content-and-configuration.74260/
Thank you for your suggestion, but the functionality of this old script will not be integrated into Plesk Ui.

Ability to exclude web access logs file from backup
The incremental backup of plesk works great except for only one thing: log file.
I find that on high traffic site, the backup will always backup ALL log file even if this is an incremental backup. This create a very large backup file even the site hasn't been changed at all.
The ability to exclude log from backup will help incremental backup run much faster and save more space.
1 votePlease refer to https://docs.plesk.com/en-US/onyx/administrator-guide/backing-up-and-restoration/backing-up-the-entire-server.59257/ to know how to exclude log files from backup.

Provide the ability to script checking backup status
We have several Plesk servers. I would like to create a script that would be run daily on a separate monitoring server (Nagios) to check the status of the backups on each Plesk server we have. I think its not a good idea to only be notified by Plesk if Plesk thinks the backups had an error. If the task fails to run for any reason, no notification would be sent and we would not know that the backups didn't run. I would like Nagios to know that the backups were successful and alert me if they were not.
1 votePlease refer to Plesk Documentation https://docs.plesk.com/en-US/12.5/api-rpc/reference/managing-backups/retrieving-backup-task-status.44539/ to know how to get backup task status by API.

So kindly provide the options to backup the database and also to backup the website in one backed up file also1 voteThis functionality is already implemented - https://docs.plesk.com/en-US/12.5/administrator-guide/website-management/website-databases/exporting-and-importing-database-dumps.69538/ To solve your issue, please contact your hosting provider (the company that hosts your website) and request support from them directly. We are the authors of the software you and your hosting provider are using, and unfortunately, we cannot help with this particular request because we do not host your website. Allow Backups without including Mail
Either allow all stored mail to be scanned for viruses because established web sites may have mail stored before appropriate software was avaiable to remove it, or alow backups to not include any mail, because I cannot rid the problem from my backups without deleting my entire mail system for several web sites and starting over.
1 voteYou can backup your domain with the disabled option “Mail configuration and content” in Plesk Onyx 17.8

Add the possibility to exclude one or any domains from server backup.
Hi,
Plesk 12.5 user
The backup manager in Tools $ Ressources do the job.
It backup all my domains and databases. OK
But, i have 2 domains (with 10 go of data) that I dont' want to include in this backup.
I would prefer to create a dedicated backup task for these domains (only one backup per month for example)
So, it woud be great to exclude some domains from the backup managerThanks !
2 votesJust use exclude-domain option for pleskbackup utility – http://docs.plesk.com/en-US/12.5/advanced-administration-guide-linux/backing-up-restoring-and-migrating-data/backing-up-data/specifying-data-for-backing-up.68839/

SnapShot Backup & Restore for Admin and Domain Owners
No sure how viable this is in terms of technology. But id like to see a snapshot backup and restore feature in plesk for when admins or domain owners are tweaking, changing or upgrading files or editing or testing settings.
This would be far better than having to restore a full backup should things go wrong.
0 votesPlesk 12.5 should cover your needs:
1. Server-level and subscription-level backup
2. You can use excludes to avoid backing up stuff you don’t want
3. Gradual restore means you don’t have to restore everything if things go wrong. If there is a specific scenario that cannot be addressed by the points above, please let us know.
Since Plesk has the functionality to address scenarios mentioned in this request, we’re closing it as already done.

Serverbackups not include to Customer Quota
There is an issue in the quota calculation in the following point:
If i create a customer Hosting Plan with 5GB Quota.
The Customer have 2GB Data in his Hosting, and I create a Serverbackup via the Plesk Backupmanager as root.No the Customer Quota are increased to 4GB.
If the Customer creates self backups - it is okay to include them in the Quota Calculation.
But i don't think that the root-Serverbackup should be calculated in okay thanks for help
3 votesThe feature is available in Plesk 12.0. You can find the settings if you open “Tools & Settings” > “General Settings” > “Server Settings”.

Backup Manager
When the admin backup the whole server in server repository, every subcription increases its disk space. I don't think this the right way.
It must not affects subscription's disk spaceYou must fix this.

backup compatibility with new server
In my past experience, when I tried loading a passworded domain backup (created via Plesk) to a new Plesk server, the backup wasn't accepted, with a msg stating that only backups created on same Plesk server can be restored.
Maybe I wasn't doing something right, and it is actually possible to restore a plesk created domain backup to a new server, however, it created a considerable mess and seemed a very unnecessary situation.
If it isn't possible to presently restore backups on a new Plesk server, please can you add this to the to-do list, as this really is essential…
2 votesDue security reason only Plesk administrator can restore backups from another Plesk server.

Automated way of removing all Plesk Restore notifications in the panel
We do automated backup/restores of trial accounts, and the panel always displays restore notifications right in the Plesk Backup manager. Sometimes this goes up to dozens if not hundreds of notifications. We need an automated way of getting rid of those, either with a single "close all" (and ideally "close all successful") button, but we could live with a command line. Each notification can take a minute to delete, overheads the system, and an accumulation slows down the loading of the Backup Manager page a great deal.
