  1. Can I suggest a server side loading progress bar? thanks

It would be possible to create an extension so that when the web loads a progress bar appears. But the progress bar appears before the page loads, that is, from the moment the request is made to the server. Thanks

Thank you for your update. If I understand correctly, you would like to incorporate a progress bar into a web page that will load prior to the initial server response. Unfortunately, this is out of scope for a control panel to deliver. It will be best to consider consulting with a website developer. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

  2. Suggestion: Add a Dedicated Reverse Proxy Option in the Domain/Subdomain Setup

Currently, Plesk allows configuring reverse proxies through the "Apache & Nginx" tab under "Additional nginx directives." While functional, this approach can be tedious and less intuitive, especially for users managing multiple servers or specific use cases. Adding a dedicated "Reverse Proxy" option during domain or subdomain setup would greatly enhance usability and streamline the process.

For instance, when creating a subdomain, users could choose "Reverse Proxy" as a hosting type, alongside options like "Web Hosting" or "Mail Hosting." This feature could include an intuitive configuration interface with settings such as:

Specifying the target server (e.g., local machine or external server).…

Thank you for your suggestion. Plesk is primarily designed as a web hosting control panel, with a focus on simplifying website and mail hosting management. Implementing a reverse proxy interface with the level of flexibility and customization you described would require significant architectural changes and expanding into advanced proxy management, particularly for game servers and similar setups, falls outside of our scope.

Additionally, standalone reverse proxy tools like Nginx Proxy Manager or similar solutions can be integrated alongside Plesk for more complex use cases. Solutions specifically designed for game server management might be better suited to such tasks.

With that said, we are closing the current request.

  3. Feature Suggestion for Easier Website Migration Process

    Dear Plesk Support Team,

I appreciate your response to my recent query. I understand that server-specific issues need to be handled by the hosting provider, but I’d like to take this opportunity to suggest a feature enhancement for Plesk.

During my recent experience, I faced challenges while trying to migrate an old .aspx website from the main domain to a subdomain and shift a WordPress website from a subdomain to the main domain. This process was more complex than expected, and it would be helpful if Plesk could offer a more user-friendly or automated tool for such domain and subdomain…

  4. Add variables to 'Auto-reply message text'

Add variables to 'Auto-reply message text' same as <request_from>, for example for 'Auto-reply message subject'. Exampe of such variable:
<request_text> copying the body message to the autoreply message.

  5. Show DNS zone settings to the customer without giving the ability to change it.

Currently, disabling DNS settings permission hides DNS menu. It would be better instead for the customer to be able to check their current settings without being able to change them.

  8. Compatibility of MariaDB Upgrade Feature with CloudLinux

I would like to request compatibility between the MariaDB upgrade feature recently developed by Plesk and CloudLinux. The current upgrade feature is excellent for simplifying and enhancing the security of MariaDB upgrades, but it unfortunately does not support CloudLinux, which many users rely on for stability, security, and ease of use.

Ensuring compatibility with CloudLinux would greatly benefit users who use both platforms, making database upgrades smoother and reducing the need for complex, manual procedures. I also believe that providing specific documentation on database restoration, in case of upgrade failures during a manual process, would add considerable value for users,…

  9. Update the security options to best practice for domains page

Tiny things, should be easily implemented:

    1) For HSTS the recommended settings are

    Strict-Transport-Security: max-age=31536000; includeSubDomains; preload

Otherwise if you add it elsewhere (the server headers page) you have to turn this off or get two headers implemented, and you do not get the full security rating on that security page and looks like something is missing (plus inconvenient if you do not know what to do).

    2) OCSP stapling is something no longer recommended, and probably should be removed. Perhaps this could be replaced with automatic setup of the DS and CAA records (especially given the range of providers…

  10. Make Wordpress Toolkit aware of virtual directories and their PHP version

    Scenario
You have a legacy site that only supports up to a certain version of PHP on the root of domainname.co.uk (let's say PHP 5.6)

You also have a WordPress installation on domainname.co.uk/blog/ which is also a virtual directory.

Via virtual directory for the blog, you have selected PHP 8.2

WP Toolkit is not aware of the setting of the virtual directory and assumes the PHP version to be the same as the root.

After upgrading WP to 6.6.x WP Toolkit displays "Broken WordPress site" but the WordPress installation is actually fine.

Thank you for your suggestion. WP Toolkit uses the panel's API to know which handler is used for a domain, and cannot support any manual configurations. For example you can create different domain for this site, with document root inside the docroot of the main site or proxy requests from the main domain's subfolder to the domain.

In these cases WP Toolkit can detect correctly the PHP handler for a site (just because there are panel's entities), and the site can be accessible via http in subfolder.

  11. Introduce notification threshold on disk space usage

Customers exceed the allocated disk space. A notification is sent. But customers don't want this notification when they exceed the allocation, but BEFORE they exceed it so that they can react to a warning in a timely manner and won't face overuse charges.

Why is this a problem? Some users don't check their email regularly. They feel pressured to pay an overuse fee if they are not allowed "enough" time to react to an overuse situation.

Proposed feature: A notification threshold for disk space usage should be introduced to service plans in GB or percentage or a general threshold expressed…

Thank you for your suggestion. A VPN component was previously supported on Plesk, but due to consistently low installation numbers and significant resources needed to update it for compatibility with Plesk Obsidian it has been decided to stop its development. Thus, at this point, it isn't planned to deploy such a feature.

  18. Data Storage Challenges with Plesk – Any Advice?

    Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on data storage [https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/servers-storage/solutions/data-storage/] solutions and am exploring how Plesk can be used to manage and optimize storage. While Plesk offers various tools for managing data and storage environments, I’m facing some challenges in fully utilizing its features.

Here are a few areas where I’m seeking advice:

Storage Management Best Practices: What are the best practices for managing data storage using Plesk? Are there any common pitfalls or tips for effective storage management?
Performance Optimization: How can I optimize the performance of my data storage setup with Plesk? Any recommendations for improving efficiency…

  20. Instant Data Reset Button for Streamlined Server Management

I would like to request a feature for my Plesk server: a streamlined button that allows for the immediate deletion of all data without the need for any confirmation prompts. This feature would be invaluable during moments when managing the server becomes overwhelming, providing a quick and efficient way to reset the system with a single action.
