Feature Suggestion for Easier Website Migration Process
Dear Plesk Support Team,
I appreciate your response to my recent query. I understand that server-specific issues need to be handled by the hosting provider, but I’d like to take this opportunity to suggest a feature enhancement for Plesk.
During my recent experience, I faced challenges while trying to migrate an old .aspx website from the main domain to a subdomain and shift a WordPress website from a subdomain to the main domain. This process was more complex than expected, and it would be helpful if Plesk could offer a more user-friendly or automated tool for such domain and subdomain…

Recovery of Databases from general Plesk Backup Management
Error when restoring backups of databases using general Plesk Backup Management..
If databases have been created which do not contain any tables, the empty database will not be filled with tables when the databases are restored again, will remain empty.
The Plesk database file is selected -> opened to see the options of what you want to do with it. In my case, I want to restore a database.
There should be a question when you are already in import mode for "Databases" -> "Select database" -> "Overwrite empty databases" and "Overwrite all old databases (security question when confirming "restore",…
1 voteThank you for your suggestions Jan. We appreciate your input. However when restoring objects, such as databases, from a backup it's expected that existing objects will be overwritten by the objects from the backup. That's the nature of restoring backups.
That's why unfortunately we are unable to consider your suggestions for additional user confirmations when restoring backup. We appreciate your understanding.
As for restoring an empty database we ran some tests but were unable to reproduce the result you're describing. If you encountered any issues with restoring an empty database from a backup we suggest you contact Plesk support for an investigation of the issue.

Check backup process when backup is finished and kill or provide notification if not ended automatically
Check backup process when backup is finished and kill or provide notification if not ended automatically
1 voteIf a backup finishes and the process does not end, this should be considered a product issue, not a feature to notify the user about the issue. Let's rather fix the underlying issue.

Multiple scheduled Backups
It would be useful to have the ability to make scheduled backups in more than just one FTP server, so that you have multiple backups.
For example, with the Strasbourg fire, I lost two VPSs and the server where I had backups of them.
By having a backup on an additional server, I would have limited the damage.
1 voteWe are closing this request as there was no demand for it during the course of two years. As an alternative what we can suggest is to consider configuring an additional cloud storage (Plesk can be integrated with Amazon S3, Google Drive, DropBox, DigitalOcean Spaces, Microsoft OneDrive) or manually transferring the backup copies after completion to an additional FTP server. We would still like to thank you for your input.

Allow resellers to use remote FTP backup, but prevent them from changing it's settings
To let resellers use the ftp archive without letting them change the FTP remote settings could give Administrators more control over backups.

Separate folder for backups
Make it possible, to specify a separate path on reseller/customer basis, reasoning being that if there are physical hard drives dedicated to the customer they can not include the backups on it.
2 votesNo details were provided why the existing separation of user backups in folders is insufficient. Also Plesk does not support separate drives for different subscriptions. Such a scenario could be achieved by putting accounts on different servers, too. No further information was provided on this topic. Regarding the low number of votes on this feature we must decline it.

Create the option "Maximum number of incremental backups to store" on Plesk
Currently it is possible to limit the "Maximum number of full backups to store" which is valid for Full backups only, it would be good to have a similar option to limit the "Maximum number of incremental backups to store"

backup database
When creating the backup, instead of backing up the entire database, it will be better to compress the tables in the database separately.

Disaster Recovery Plesk _ Speed Up Backup Restoration procedure with possibility to open multiple process pleskrestore running
Allow the pleskrestore command to be run under different example accounts
pleskrestore --restore domains1.tar -level clients [<option_N> [<param>]]
pleskrestore --restore domains2.tar -level clients [<option_N> [<param>]]
pleskrestore --restore domains3.tar -level clients [<option_N> [<param>]]in order to obtain more simultaneous processes for the restore and therefore speeding up the recovery procedure of an entire server through plesk backups, in case of emergency.
It is very important to allow you to run multiple simultaneous processes, also because today's CPUs and disks are very powerful and performing, if in case of emergency recovery, 8 restore commands are launched, the recovery process is speeded up…
9 votesThere are two major bottlenecks for restores: Network bandwidth for downloading the archive from an external FTP server (either on the FTP server or on the local host) and cpu power on unpacking the compressed archives. Both are already maxed in the current restore algorithms. In addition, disk I/O capabilities can limit the restore speed. Specificially uncompressing creates a high cpu load and lots of disk I/O transactions. Running several such processes concurrently could stall the server and will not necessarily increase the restoration speed. Dozens of test restores on real production machines with 12-core CPUs and backup large archives (e.g. 500 - 800 GB) have shown that it is a much better and safer approach to do one such restore at a time as two of them will already overload a machine.
For these reasons we decline this request. However, rest assured that speed is always on the agenda.…

Google Drive for backups - Allow full access to drive even to delete? Wow. Why are we not able to grant a specific folder?
Google Drive for backups - Allow full access to drive that includes deleting function throughout entire? Wow. What kind of madness is in terms of security? Why is there not a function to grant a specific folder that would restrict full access only to that folder?

Linode Object Storage to store backups.
Add a possibility to store backups on Linode Object Storage. As it is done for DigitalOcean Spaces, Amazon S3 Backup, Google Drive Backup
1 voteAs mentioned by Alexander Yamshanov, you should be able to configure Linode Object Storage though the Amazon S3 Backup Plesk extension without an issue.

Split the backup manager option "User files and databases"
When backups are done externally from Plesk for example over the hostsystem it would be usefull to be able to create Plesk backups of "Domain configuration + Databases"
This could be accomplished by spliting the option into:
- User files
- Databases1 voteUpd: Sorry, we are closing the request as no information were provided for over a month.

Add Samba (smbd) to Backup Types
If you do not want to use FTP or SFTP you can also use Samba
1 voteThis feature has only 1 vote during 3 years. It did not become popular. If you are looking for backup alternatives, we recommend to check out the "Backup to Cloud Pro" extension that includes a wealth of popular storage platform connectors and will give your customers and you great choices how and where to store your backups:

Exclude mailing lists from incremental backups
Exclude mailing lists from incremental backups
3 votesThe impact of including mailing lists in backups is minimal in time and storage space consumption. There is no benefit but saving a few milliseconds and a few bytes. Also this request did not become popular through many years. For these reasons we must decline it.
