did not get any alarm mail, if the server is down...
There should be a Alarm mail or notification option, when the server is down. We are on dedicated Windows Hosting plan, rather this the best plan Hostgator offered.

Unfortunately Plesk cannot send a notification when it is down. Perhaps you may want to submit this request to Hostgator company? http://hostgator.com
