Customer email notification when mailbox quota exceeded
It would be a very useful feature to have an email automatically injected to a customers mailbox when their quota is close to the limit and another when the mailbox quota has been exceeded with advice (customisable) on how to resolve the problem.
Sometimes clients are unaware/forget their quota and if accessing via outlook/smartphone etc they are not aware of the limit being reached. This can result in several days without emails or emails being rejected with a "mailbox full" autoresponder. Ironically this means anyone sending emails to the client are aware the mailbox is full but the client is…

Sogo Webmail
Add Sogo as a webmail alternative in Plesk.
Sogo share your calendars, address books and mails in your community with a completely free and open source solution
Sogo is a great webmail solution and provides native Microsoft ActiveSync support. Mobile devices such as Apple iPhone, Android, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry 10 can fully synchronize emails, contacts, events and tasks with SOGo.
452 votesThe new SOGo Webmail extension is available, it can be installed Plesk Obsidian 18.0.48+. We encourage you to check the implementation and let us know what you think. Smarthost/External SMTP
It would be nice to have an external SMTP (smarthost) ability for a per-domain basis (most mail services have this)
We use this for external scanning, data leak prevention and more.
Can this be be done?
420 votesHi everyone,
I am glad to inform you that starting from Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, it is now possible to configure Smarthost/relayhost on a server level in Tools & Settings > Smarthost.
However, while most of the feedback we received indicates that the current solution is good enough in resolving the pain point, there are some of our users who would like to be able to enable Smarthost on a per domain basis.
While providing an ability to configure multiple similar Smarthosts for different domains might be complicated, considering the technical stack we are working with (Windows & Linux, Postfix & MailEnable & SmarterMail), we can provide an ability to configure one Smarthost as a Plesk admin and give the possibility to enable this specific Smarthost for particular domains without enabling it serverwide.
In order to gather the feedback & votes specifically from the people who needs this exact functionality,…

Delete mail after forwarding
I would like to use an E-Mail address as an outgoing E-Mail address with no postbox behind it. All E-Mails should be forwarded to another E-Mail address.
Currently you can set up forwarding but if you check "Use postbox" than the mails will be kept on the server although they have been forwarded. If you uncheck it, it is impossible to send emails from that address. So please add at least an option to delete mails after forwarding them.
318 votesIn Plesk 18.0.37 added the option to automatically remove emails forwarded from a mailbox in Plesk. The feature is disabled by default. To enable it, go to “Mail”, click the desired mailbox, open the “Forwarding” tab and select the “Do not deliver copies of forwarded emails to the Plesk mailbox” checkbox.
If you need this feature for Plesk for Windows, please vote here: https://plesk.uservoice.com/forums/184549/suggestions/44158872

Email import tool
It would be a great idea to be able to import mail for individual email accounts via POP3 from other servers.
This would be great for customers migrating to you so that they can keep all their email.
Would just need fields such as:
-Hostname
-Username
-Password
-Port
-Encryption314 votesImplemented as the functionality of Site Import 1.2.0 https://docs.plesk.com/release-notes/onyx/change-log/#17811-mu20180516
Added the ability to import the content of mailboxes hosted on third-party servers with the IMAP access into mailboxes hosted on a Plesk server. Now users can import emails from Gmail or Yahoo! Mail mailboxes and from mailboxes managed by control panels (for example, Plesk or cPanel). All folders (including custom folders) and emails contained in them are imported. The “read” or “unread” status of imported emails is preserved.

Search mail logs from Gui
We have many support requests from our customers (non technical) to search logs and find if a message was sucessfull delivered and consume much from our support.
If the customer could search logs from a specific sender ou destination, filtering by date, will be great for us.
307 votesWe released the ‘Mail Log Browser’ extension
https://ext.plesk.com/packages/942273dc-a99b-4744-9e8f-c4a4b047c63d-log-browser
This extension allows you to check the statuses of all emails sent to and from your server by reviewing maillog and filtering by date, source, or any string pattern; also it’s possible to check mail logs in real-time (‘tail -fn0’ analog).
It’s available for Plesk Administrators and supports Postfix and Qmail mail servers.

Add Mailman 3
Hi,
plz add mailman 3 as mailinglist software.303 votesWe are happy to announce that mailman3 support is now available in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.59+ on Debian 11 and Debian 12.
Unfortunately, mailman3 packages can't be installed on Ubuntu22 and Ubuntu24 because of bugs (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mailman3/+bug/1999197, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mailman-suite/+bug/2062960). It blocks us from implementing supporting mailman3 on these OSes right now. When the bugs are fixed, we will return to implementing mailman3 support on these operating systems.
Also, to our regret, it is impossible to provide Mailman support on modern RHEL-based OSes because RedHat does not have plans to support Mailman in new OS releases (https://access.redhat.com/solutions/6766041). If you prefer RHEL-based OSes, as a workaround, you can use Plesk on AlmaLinux 8.x, where the mailman2 package is present; the vendor's termination date for AlmaLinux 8.x is 2029.
All other known limitations for Mailman support you can find in Plesk Documentation by the link https://docs.plesk.com/en-US/obsidian/administrator-guide/59438/. If you have any feedback on the implementation of this…

Empty an emailbox
The ability to empty a users emailbox without deleting the account and recreating would be great.
247 votesWe are glad to inform you that with Plesk Obsidian 18.0.65 we added the ability to quickly empty mailboxes of all mail to the “Mail Accounts” page. The Empty Mailbox button enables users to remove all mail, both incoming and outgoing, from one or more mailboxes with a click.

It would be nice to provide mail SSL/TLS support with SNI for more domains from single IP
217 votesWe are glad to inform you that this feature is available.
- If you use the domain (example.org) as an address for a mail server as well, see https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/12377516977175-How-to-assign-an-SSL-certificate-per-domain-to-secure-the-mail-server-in-Plesk-SNI-support for details on how it could be configured.
- If you would like to use a 3rd level domain (e.g. mail.example.org) as an address for a mail server, then please use a wildcard certificate for this scenario.
- If you are interested in the scenario where Plesk serves mails (mail.example.org) and the A-record for the domain (example.org) points to another server, please continue voting for the https://plesk.uservoice.com/forums/184549-feature-suggestions/suggestions/39378850 request.

Set a senders email address for Plesk notifications
I am sending mails from an external server, my Plesk Servers do not even have mail setup. Plesk offers the option to send notification mails (like backup errors,...) using an external SMTP server, but all mails get sent using the mail address
root@servername.domain.tldMy SMTP server does not have this mail address or even domain setup. I would like to set a custom email address for Plesk to send mails from in order to not have to set up a domain and mail address for every Plesk server.

Show reason of deferred message in mail queue
Actually it's possible to show deferred messages headers in : Tools and settings > mail server settings > mail queue
It would be very useful if it's possible to show the reason why the message is deffered or stuck in the queue (/var/spool/postfix/defer).
132 votesWe are happy to announce that the ability to Track Email Delivery is now available in Log Browser 1.8.0. In the new version, Plesk customers (as well as Plesk administrators) can track email delivery and manage deferred emails right in the domain card (under the "Mail" tab). If an email has been deferred, the reason also be shown.

Complete DMARC Support
The DMARC support in Plesk Onyx 17.5.3 ist incomplete. If an incoming email is rejected due to a DMARC fail there is no mailer daemon generated to inform the sender of this email.
Please add this important feature to DMARC support. Otherwise it would not be usable for most customers.

Add SRS - Sender Rewriting Scheme to Linux
SRS is available in Windows on external mail servers, but it isn't available in any mail server in Linux. More and more domains have SPF and more and more mail servers reject e-mails that don't pass SPF check.
So please add support for SRS in Linux.

Have an option to deliver email addressed to VERP-style email addresses.
Postfix already has the option, but it doesn't seem to be supported on Plesk.
I want to use VERP so I can automatically process bounce messages with a script. I send out bulk email with a return-path like bounces+uid-john=example.com@ourdomain.com and I want the bounces to be delivered to bounces@ourdomain.com
Postfix has the configuration parameter recipientdelimiter. If I set that in /etc/postfix/main.cf, the server accepts the email and passes it to pleskvirtual. But then it is silently discarded instead of being delivered to the bounces mailbox.
The only way I see with the current set up to deliver…

Enable sending e-mails to same domain on external server even if Mail service is enabled for a domain
As more and more customers move to G Suite and Office 365, there is a need to send authenticated emails from local SMTP to external server that handles same domain.
Lets say example.com has a WordPress installation that sends notifications, order confirmations, form confirmations, ... to avoid spam and meet best practices, I will create local e-mail account mail@example.com.
If domain has G Suite hosting info@example.com, emails from mail@example.com will not be delivered, because of Plesk's setup.
As long as mail is enabled locally, one will get error: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table; even…
57 votesSince early 2023 a third option between "Enabled" and "Not configured" for the "Mail Settings" in a domain was added: "Disabled for incoming mail". This lets you send emails from your domain through sendmail with authentication and also lets you send mails through the PHP mail() function, but it does not deliver these mails locally. This solves the issue where mail domains are located elsewhere while a website generates emails from forms or other application scenarios.
We'll be happy to read your comments if you have additional requirements.

Display DKIM Public Key in the Web Interface
Currently the only way to get the DKIM key is to decode the private key from the shell when using an external DNS service, however it would be nice if the public key is just being displayed in the web interface so the user can see it and add it to the external DNS.
56 votesStarting from Plesk Obsidian 18.0.35 DKIM public key is shown in the pop-up window on the Mail Settings page of the particular domain.
