Feature Suggestion for Easier Website Migration Process
Dear Plesk Support Team,
I appreciate your response to my recent query. I understand that server-specific issues need to be handled by the hosting provider, but I’d like to take this opportunity to suggest a feature enhancement for Plesk.
During my recent experience, I faced challenges while trying to migrate an old .aspx website from the main domain to a subdomain and shift a WordPress website from a subdomain to the main domain. This process was more complex than expected, and it would be helpful if Plesk could offer a more user-friendly or automated tool for such domain and subdomain…
2 votesThank you for your input, Syed. We are sorry to hear you faced difficulties during the migration process. As Plesk is control panel with primary focus on web hosting and server management, introducing a module that will convert a website from one framework/application to another falls out of scope as this is mainly code-related and typically handled by web developers. Still, we would like to hear your feedback on what aspects you found inconvenient and how you would like the overall process to be improved. If you can provide us with precise examples so we can get clear understanding it will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

MIgration of Backups to Cheaper Alternatives
While you provide the ability to backup to different locations, whether on local disk, FTP, SMB share, or cloud you do not provide an ability to migrate backups through the tiers. First off local disk is the most expensive and you should only keep a small subset of backups. After that there should be an ability to migrate those backups to cheaper alternatives, like S3 storage, while continuing to preserve the metadata.
1 voteThank you for your input. The is already an option to configure backups with S3 storage through the Amazon S3 Backup extension:
As for the "ability to migrate backups through the tiers", unfortunately, I was not able to get a clear understanding on it. Hence, could you please provide more details and examples?
Thank you in advance.

Plesk Backup & Restore Part II
Plesk Backup & Restore
In my opinion, it makes no sense to import a backup where the software only "Only the configuration of the selected objects" means that if you click the wrong button, the database data can no longer be imported.
The databases have to be deleted manually in order to then select the correct setting "Configuration and contents of the selected objects". There is no setting to "Overwrite configuration and contents".
1 voteThank you for your feedback Jan. We are however unsure about your request and are unable to replicate the issue you're describing. We love to know more about the issue and would appreciate if you could share more details about the issue and the steps you took when you encountered this issue.
