  2. Deny access to all dot files by default

    A lot of web applications that are either built or simply installed on a website use dot files and folders, whether those be .htaccess, .git, .env, etc.

    Generally speaking dot files and folders are used to store either sensitive files or backend configuration which you would never want users to be able to access.

    By default Apache has some protection built-in to restrict accessing dot files, but Nginx does not. This creates a potential security risk, for example I might install a web application or build one which has dot files in the public root, these most likely would be…

  3. docker or lxc

    It wanna be nice to have docker or lxc in Plesk integrated, in that way like "cockpit" have it. That you can easily create container, set start parameter login over a console. All this over a web interface.

    Sadly at the moment virtuozzo even don't support docker - but maybe it will in the future :). And the are the doors open for docker in Plesk.

  4. Add support for MicroSoft Web Deploy 4.0

    Web Deployv.4.0 was installed on the server before Plesk.
    Now WebDeploy is displayed as installed in Plesk installer.
    However, it is not detected by Plesk in Tools & Settings > Server Components(Refresh does not help either).

  5. Backup mailbox configuration only, but no emails

    In the server backup settings, there should be a setting such as backing up all the settings of the e-mail addresses and not backing up the e-mails in the mail accounts. There is no need to backup mails on servers that mostly use pop3, and because this setting is not available, backup sizes are too large.

    In automatic and manual server and subscription backups you can uncheck the "mail messages" box to exclude messages in mail boxes. This will not backup the messages but will still backup the configuration of the mailbox. The mailbox configuration can be restored afterwards by restoring the mailbox. Only the configuration will be restored in that case, not the content of the mailbox.

    Since Apache MPM settings are hard to set correctly, there should be proposals and suggestions that help you set them properly within the Plesk GUI.

  7. FTP Backup directly to storage

    Actual backups are safed local and then thei are commited to the FTP Backup Storage.
    This means every Backup uses the Space also local (temporary). This can be a Problem with limited VMs etc.

    It would be good if backups can be done directly to FTP Storage (optional setting).

    In common it is not possible due to several of technical restrictions, especially on Windows. But in version Plesk 17.0 Onyx we will use new backup process schema. Content will be backuped one-by-one by services of domain hosting. For instance, first part of backup – web content – will be compressed locally and sent to ftp server. After that this dump will be removed and mail content will be compressed to local dump and sent to ftp, then mail dump deleted and databases dump created, sent, deleted, etc. This schema will dramatically decrease disk space usage during backup procedure.

  8. Reseller Permissions

    Hello
    I need an access to limitation on reseller but I see all of resellers can change all of performance , PHP setting , application poll and ... easily during create plans and my deny permissions not affected on reseller access but I need resellers fallow master access on my servers
    and I need to remove unlimited option on create plans for resellers , all of resellers can switch to unlimited option easily for customers during create plan

  9. HTTP verbs management by Plesk on Windows

    There is a common need due to Rest API-development to able to switch on / off http verbs for IIS server. Verbs are according to my knowledge configured in the ApplicationHost.config file which cannot be configured via web.config file. So, please consider implementing this in Plesk. Also make this available in Classic Asp settings which also locates in the ApplicationHost.config file. For Classic Asp and also for ASP.net, by default only GET and POST verbs are available.

  10. Running alternative commands in the GIT deployment

    Hi,

    What im missing on the GIT deployment is additional commands which are not bound to NPM. What i want for my application is to run the following commands:

    composer install
    php artisan migrate
    gulp --production (which is aliased to "npm run prod")

    Unfortunately PHP commands doesnt work on the Alternative Deployment Actions. it would be great if any command can be created.

    For people that tried to run PHP 7 commands:
    /opt/plesk/php/7.0/bin/php ~/tools/composer.phar install

    doesnt work either

  11. Add feature to import/export docker containers

    Currently Plesk allows only create Docker containers from the scratch, however in case customers move whole their infrastructure to server with Plesk there is no official way to transfer Docker containers from source environment.     The Docker extension allows you to "Save as Image" existing containers and to "Upload image" to Docker if you have images saved locally.

    Plesk now supports launching a Portainer container. Portainer is container management software that makes it easier to manage Docker containers. It also allows you to export from Docker and import images to Docker. We would love to hear your feedback on our forum at https://talk.plesk.com.

  12. Web deployment instructions, password

    It's not clear which password to use in web deploy (visual studio 2017) to IIS. As I understand I should use FTP account password. But which one? Which root folder should be at FTP user?
    Please create a separate page for web deploy with instructions and settings export.

  13. implement a switch for disabling the users (all of them at once) the option to delete e-mails

    Essentially one of the users asked if he can be prevented from deleting any e-mails for purpose of data safety.
    I wasn't able to find such an option after a quick search and was wondering if it is possible to implement it in the mail settings.

  14. Inplement a way to change the password for ongoing migration

    If I need to change the password on the source server, there is no way to update that password for current migration.

  16. Separate server scheduled tasks from webspace' scheduled tasks in Plesk Admin license

    On a Plesk running with Plesk Web Pro or Web Host license, the customers have the ability to go to Domains > example.com > Scheduled Tasks.

    However, on a Plesk Admin license, the user can only manage the Scheduled tasks from Tools & Settings > Scheduled Tasks. Due to the fact that there are more than 20 tasks created by root user, it's very hard to manage and monitor the scheduled tasks set by the customer.

    Please, add one of the following options:
    - The ability to go to Domains > example.com > Scheduled Tasks

  17. Add the possibility to define which theme will be set by default after the WordPress installation

    For example when we add the required theme into the WordPress set, after the installation the "Twenty Twenty" theme will be set as default.

    Please add the possibility to define which theme will be set by default after the WordPress installation as via the CLI method as via Plesk GUI.

    The CLI method is important here because some customers use only this method for a WordPress installation.

    We have released this feature in WPT 5.2 update. You can use GUI or CLI to choose a theme that should be activated upon the installation of a set.

    CLI command example: plesk ext wp-toolkit —sets -operation activate-theme -set-id ID -theme-id THEME_ID
    If you’re using GUI, go to Sets and click on “+ Add Themes” button next to the corresponding theme.

    Let us know on our forum (talk.plesk.com) if you encounter any issues.

  18. Specify Node.js extension parameters programmatically

    For automating Node.js setup it should be possible to set Node.js settings, like Document root , Application Startup File and variables without Plesk GUI.
