We have purchased licenses for our servers. No problem for our servers in 18.0.56, but on our servers in 18.0.34 and 17.8.11, multiple schedule does not work. No worries for S3 backup.
Yet you mark compatible 17.8.11 on the extension page...

Is it me or is this image whats going on. We ask for something simple like SFTP and multiple backups a day. But we get something thats only for the elite few.

This is a wrong desicion of the marketing department. People/Customers are awaiting for so many years for an option that is is very basic on a CRITICAL operation. BACKUP !!!!! Today with so many ransomwares/virus/hackers waiting to illegally destroy the legal, tax paid, companies a basic option of multiple backup schedules is charged by adding an extension. Maybe you have forget how many times you have raise the monthly fee for the software. From my side I accept each raise of the monthly fee, hoping that YOU will concern for the security of the plesk platform. Now we have to add some extensions to keep the sites secured and BACKUPED.... Windows has this feature since Win98. Speechless....

This comment will probably get removed @Júbilo Estudios, but I am in the process of building a new generation of hosting on Enhance. Enhance is not currently mature enough for production use IMO, but it is getting there really fast. I love Plesk as a panel but the benefits of Enhance's clustering make it a much more attractive system for failover and containerization. It also has a really robust API so you can build additional hosting features on top of it.

It sounds like an excellent opportunity for a talented developer to create a better solution through crowdfunding and then open-source it.

@Mason Curry You hit exactly the right spot. As an aside, I have tried open source panels and have been amazed at the level of development they have. Same features as Plesk and cPanel and including much more advanced ones.
The worst decision was to ignore the hundreds of comments about failover, that was catastrophic. Then they have added things that have no relevance to the system, although they are appreciated because they are useful.
Unfortunately they force us to migrate.

I don't know where the previous comment went (that I got via email). Not going to repeat it since it was likely removed, but agreed - Plesk has/had some amazing developers. The problem is not with them. Webpros came in and bought everything they could to monopolize the hosting market. Whilst raising prices to a point that crippled many hosts (as we run on narrow margins), development has essentially reached a standstill. Look at cPanel's changelog. Nothing remotely remarkable in the last couple of years. When you pay for things as a service, you expect them to grow and improve. A lot of Plesk addons are great, but they should be included in the subscription fee they continue to raise each year. We pay more for the basic license, yet all new features are now being built as extensions with additional subscription fees.

It's understandable that companies need to make money, but WebPros is just straight up greedy. They don't care about the customers or the product. Just how much more they can squeeze out of every customer they still have.

Kudos to the actual devs that work for WebPros - you are not the problem.

How else can we attract the attention of the Plesk developers so that in 10 years they will respect a rather important wish for the system?

Yes, as the initial suggestion mentioned, the requirement was several options to improve the current backup functionality which lacked such .. the offer you gave us still lacks the fine grain of the requested feature .. but features like SFTP let's face it.. should be free .. you're just improving the base FTP .. but I guess you don't want your customers the basic security unless they pay?

You can keep under the "Pro/Paid" features like Amazon S3, Google Drive, DropBox, DigitalOcean Spaces, Microsoft OneDrive.

Let's see if we understand this... after YEARS AND YEARS of waiting for a minimally competent backup option, now it turns out that the added improvements mean it becomes a paid extension... and if I don't want to pay, do I have to forget about it? Are we talking about the same backup option that forces you to have, at a minimum, the SAME SPACE ON YOUR HARD DRIVE THAT YOU WANT TO BACKUP, even if you're copying it to FTP, SFTP, or whatever you want? This IS NOT SERIOUS, and we consider it to be mocking the users...

To be honest - I also perceive this solution more as a mockery of the customer than a meaningful expansion of the product. Offering a basic functionality as a paid option for a product that has already become more expensive almost every year without noticeable added value... is quite audacious. In any case, we will refrain from using this extension on our Plesk Servers.

Harbhajan is right. Paid-for backup options already exist. Customers were asking for improvements to the basic backup facilities included with the Plesk license.

A paid Backup to Cloud Pro extension can be understood. The extension description itself highlights "access to the premium features of Amazon S3, Google Drive, DropBox, DigitalOcean Spaces, Microsoft OneDrive, SFTP Backup"

But I do not want to use any such premium features to backup to any cloud. Why plesk can not provide a basic built-in local multiple backup functionality? Despite the fact that it is/was the 2nd most voted idea as on current date, plesk ignored uservoice and decided to monetize this basic feature.

It is paid, but I'd rather pay them than Webpros. It's so far ahead of what they just dumped on us, and after 10 years on this feature request, do you have any hope at all that they'll even try to catch up to competing software?

Jetbackup will be a paid product too, no much difference

Plesk was doomed the second WebPros bought it. Obviously they need to nickel and dime people since so many are fleeing cPanel's new ridiculous pricing. I have always admired the Plesk developers as they have made some wonderful stuff - but management (*cough* Webpros) has absolutely ruined it.

The good news for those using Plesk - Jetbackup is currently in alpha on Plesk. I loved JB with cPanel and so far my testing with Plesk has been a positive experience. It offers everything you need related to backups - so before buying this bogus extension, consider checking out JB. It's like $6/mo and is lightyears ahead of anything else IMO. Hopefully it gets to beta and stable channels soon...
