We will consider this functionality in upcoming releases if it is  popular. Everyone, please continue voting for this feature if you consider it important.

However, please be aware that rate-limiting web traffic can and should normally be done using iptables as it is much more effective and resource savvy doing it on the operating system/kernel level. If there are issues with web traffic, it is best to not to let it get to the web server in the first place.

So devs... Plesk users have voted on this since 2013 we are now in 2022 = 9 years!

When will we see this being implemented?

This is the 2nd most voted Ideal for Plesk that the users are asking for!

come on this is the biggest asked suggestion we are going to be in 2018 ... and still without FREE anti-viruses. How about thinking about making the internet a better place for all of us.

Having a FREE anti-viruses on Plesk would get you more users. i for one switched for Cpanel on 3 of my servers as of Plesk not having basic free anti-viruses.

Another alternative would be Sophos free Antivirus for Linux https://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/sophos-antivirus-for-linux.aspx

Thanks for your feature request. We will definitely consider the possibility of its implementation if it receives a significant number of votes and is in demand.

We have serious doubts this function can really increase server security:
    1) Plesk has built-in protection against brute-force on login – it will lock the login form. So no one can try multiple attempts
    2) Arbitrary login name adds very little guess-complexity to a proper password. If you have concerns for your login brute-forced – add another 5-7 characters into your password and feel safe.

As changed login name is still very likely to be some sort of vocabulary word or derived from your other account name – this function would only give a false sense of better security. Your security strength is in complex password, not in a complex login name. If you have one good password, you don’t need to treat login as your “second password” – one good password is enough.

As for concerns that default password requirement is set in “weak”, that fail2ban module is not…

In Plesk 18.0.54, published July 18th, 2023, Plesk has added the ability to add Transport Layer Security Authentication (TLSA) DNS records to domains’ DNS zones in Plesk. Such records are most commonly used to implement DNS-based Authentication of Named Entities (DANE). With this update the most popular DANE scenario is covered in Plesk for Linux.

Full DANE support including UI improvements for all supported operating systems and versions is planned to become available by the end of Q3/2023.
