    SQL server is also supported on Linux, just not by Plesk.

    Docker adds it's own complexity.
    Plesk is about simplifying deployment and management, so giving up on this is not the right direction.
    Also I would need SQL Server Express backup and restore, and natively, not in docker.

    Maybe skip previous releases and go directly to 5.0 by now

    As a .dot net developer, I have lots of knowledge of Windows, but less so of Linux. The added value of Plesk is making management agnostic of the underlying os.

    While you are at it, it should support version 3.1 by now off course.
