We have serious doubts this function can really increase server security:
    1) Plesk has built-in protection against brute-force on login – it will lock the login form. So no one can try multiple attempts
    2) Arbitrary login name adds very little guess-complexity to a proper password. If you have concerns for your login brute-forced – add another 5-7 characters into your password and feel safe.

As changed login name is still very likely to be some sort of vocabulary word or derived from your other account name – this function would only give a false sense of better security. Your security strength is in complex password, not in a complex login name. If you have one good password, you don’t need to treat login as your “second password” – one good password is enough.

As for concerns that default password requirement is set in “weak”, that fail2ban module is not…

Even if you don't believe it is a security feature (which I would definitely argue it is!), it is still a very desirable convenience feature – allowing administrators to use the usernames they are used to.

As so many people have said before, this is absolutely critical. When is DANE coming to Plesk?

Thank you for your input! We will consider this functionality in upcoming releases if it will be popular.

Everyone, please continue voting for this feature if you consider it important.

    Additional information regarding this request:

Please be sure you are an owner of IP-address if you plan to vote this suggestion.

An owner of a block of IP-addresses has ability configure PTR records for IP-addresses in the block. If you rent a server or create a virtual machine in a cloud, you are not an owner of IP-address.

Usually, companies like ISP or Cloud Providers own blocks of IP-addresses. In this case, you need to use Hosting/Cloud Provider Control Panel and set up reverse zone for an IP-address (not in Plesk Panel).

I find it odd that this still doesn't seem to be implemented. As we don't want to manually modify the DNS configuration files on our Plesk server, this means that we have to run a separate set of DNS servers just for RDNS...
