Could you explain why total subscription size is not enough? Why you would need a separate limit for mail content and web content?

We don't need a seperate limit for mail. What wir need is a overall limit of mailspace. I think the example is very clear but I can easily give you some other:
We want to limit the overall mailspace of a subscription e.g. give our customers 5 GB of overall mail space. I can specify this as 5 x 1GB mailboxes or 10 x 500MB mailboxes or 20 x 250MB mailboxes. But what do i do if the customer wants 1x 2 GB (for IMAP) mailbox and 20 x 100MB mailboxes (POP3 only)?
We don't realy care how many mailboxes a customer has BUT we want to limit the maximum overall space the mailboxes can use.
