  1. Kaspersky AV handler must not backscatter

Kaspersky AV handler must not respond back to the sender address of an e-mail containing a virus. This will cause backscatter and get the server blacklisted.

  2. Mailpile support (secure mail server option)

In light of the Snowden fallout, I hope that Plesk will add support for Mailpile (http://www.mailpile.is) or something similar for secure e-mail.

    Thank you for your input!

Mailpile is meant to be a local e-mail client which is installed to the personal computer (https://www.mailpile.is/faq/#wha) and secure your mail by fetching it from server, deleting from server and securely storing on local disk. It is not considered as webmail client which is installed on the server. It works with mail server over standard protocols (SMTP, POP3, IMAP) which are supported by Plesk, so you may install use it without any limitations.
Though, as it has the web interface and written on Python, it may be installed to a web server, but it’s not recommended for security and privacy reasons.

Unfortunately, we have no plans to integrate it with Plesk panel.

  3. to crete a GUI for the spamfilter.

Within the GUI it should be possible to manage the most common tasks of SpamAssassin like the following:

    • sa-update set up a cronjob for downloading new rules and scores automatically
    • sa -learn spamfilter training for side/server wide configuration -managing of black and whitelists -adding custom rules and scores

A GUI for the spamfilter in conjunction with the planned GUI for the Greylisting will help administrators to reduce the load of incoming spam in a more comfortable way

  8. Implement use of several IP address for a mail server and automatic rotation between them

Implement use of several IP addresses for a mail server and automatic rotation between them - for example, there are 4 IP addresses on the server - mail server should be able to automatically change IP address for sending emails.

  9. Matrix, not listings for whitlist

    I suggest
Currently, the whitelist for each mail account is stored as individual lists. In groups (families, small businesses, clubs, etc. ) these lists are time-consuming to maintain. It is easier to maintain these as a matrix. So I suggest to keep the TAB "whitelist", but to link to a single central matrix file.

    Hello Bruno,

Usually big institutions which are using multiple mail servers, have other spam preventing frameworks which are more reliable than greylisting (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) set up properly.

Greylisting mean is to protect receiving spam mail from hosts infected with simple spamming scripts which can’t process 4xx server answers. Such hosts are usually (if not say always) fail SPF/DKIM/DMARC checks.
In cases when legitimate mail host is infected or spam is sent from it in other way (with hacked user account for example), greylisting is completely useless.
Making greylisting work in proposed way (react on first 3 octets only) is not a simple task and, actually, will decrease protection level because hosts with addresses in the same /24 subnet are often being hacked and infected at the same time.

So I’d recommend you using greylisting for hosts which are failed other frameworks…

  17. RFC 6154

Provide support for RFC 6154 in order to allow this configuration to be performed from within Plesk as seen in https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002184133

  18. Change the minimum value for spamfilter sensitivity to allow negative values.

Spammers get better and better. They even spam through a good configured greylist and achieve X-Spamcheck values below zero. To get these spams our customers want to change the minimum value to a negative value. This is not possible at the moment.

  19. Allow the recipients of an email sent through a mailing list to the sender as the email that used the mailing list

    The following example was provided:

The mailing list has the email of user2@example.com assigned.

    The mailing list contains user3@example.com & user4@example.com.

When user1@example.com sends an email using mailing list (user2@example.com), the recipients see that the sender of the email is user2@example.com instead of user1@example.com

Ideally, if user1@example.com uses the mailing list or user7@example.com uses the mailing list then their emails would appear as the sender instead of the mailing list email address (user2@example.com).
