  2. read-only FTP-users (even on Linux)

Today, it is only possible to give write restriction by using .ftpaccess-files. It would be very nice if there was a switch in the panel when creating FTP users, which would make it possible to create a read-only account.

Actually, we consider this ability as potentially dangerous from the point of view of security. We believe that this client should be limited within its webspace.

But we will consider this functionality in upcoming releases, if it will be popular.

Everyone, please continue voting for this feature if you consider it important.

  9. Alternative functionality for configuring FTP backup storage instead of <backup-manager> operator.

There is a need for new functionality that allows us to configure FTP backup storage settings. Plesk UI is not an applicable way. As XMP-API <backup-manager> operator is deprecated in Plesk 17.8, alternative cli functionality is required to manage FTP backup storage settings. It was possible to perform via XML-API <set-remote-storage-settings> node of <backup-manager> operator.

  10. Multi SFTP manager (folder and users)

A component, only for Manage users and folders.
Think about a company. Lot of departments. Every department has a manager who made interchange of millions files with Clients and Suppliers (normally documents). The Manager, can créate accounts (and folders) for every Client and Supllier (and other Customer or user). This will simplify IT support. Web bassed or via client (how FileZilla)

  11. Allow SFTP to additional FTP accounts

Currently only the main FTP user can use the SFTP protocol.
Additional FTP accounts can use only FTPES.

Our partner is requiring now an SFTP protocol (since FTPES is outdated) for our automated datatransfer. Obviously we don't want to give them access to our main FTP user.

Therefore we need SFTP available for all FTP users.

  12. Copy/Clone files into the directory through File Manager

Its not possible to copy a file into the same directory because it doesn’t give you an option to rename it. returning the error message.

Unable to copy /httpdocs/index.html: A file or directory with the same name already exists in the destination directory.

  13. Add possibility to view FTP log file via Plesk GUI.

Add possibility to view FTP /var/log/plesk/xferlog file via Plesk GUI.

It will be helpful in order to check what operations were made by FTP accounts.

Also, add a possibility to download this file via Plesk GUI and convert this file to PDF and CSV formats.

  14. Anonymous FTP access via IPv6

    Hello,

Plesk allows possibility to configure anonymous FTP access when a dedicated IPv4 address is assigned to a subscription.

However, this is not possible when IPv6 is assigned.

Please add support of anonymous FTP access via IPv6.

  15. Offer proper sftp support through mysecureshell

It would be nice if Plesk by default installed sftp server software (such as http://mysecureshell.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ ) that allows granting the user sftp access to his home directory only, without having to grant the user full SSH shell access.

Right now Plesk seems to be promoting FTPS as alternative for securely transfering files, but that simply does not work properly when the end-user has a firewall or NAT setup. Or when you have iptables rules on the server.
This is caused by that FTPS uses multiple TCP ports like normal FTP.
However because the control connection traffic is encrypted, firewall software…

  16. Support mod_ifsession for proftpd

For security we have mandatory the use of SSL / TLS to connect by FTP.

Although sometimes we have to make exceptions with a client.

With the mod_ifsession module of ProFTPD you could do:

    <IfUser testuser>
    TLSRequired off
    </IfUser>

It is a safe and official ProFTPD module, I do not understand why it is not active.

  17. When deleteing a FTP user

I can't tell if your system is actually doing anything after I select yes to delete a FTP User. It would be helpful to have some indicator that something is actually happening,

  18. Add a predefined group called "Anonymous visitors to this web site"

I'm new to Plesk. In File Manager, I was trying to give full Read/Download permissions for a nested set of folders within my web site, to any anonymous visitor. It is not clear how to do this. I had to make a support call. Save yourself some time by adding relevant hints or help to the File Manager / Permissions page.

  19. Log.txt files for each day available via FTP separated for every domain name hosted

Actually the log file contain several days. A must for a good hosting provider is to offer the files for every day, no matter if the file is just 3kb in size
