  1. Update custom/premium assets like themes and plugins with Smart Updates

The WordPress Toolkit and Smart Updates shall register custom/premium assets like themes and plugins which aren't available on WordPress.org. Basically, if the Dashboard in the WordPress backend shows updates, the toolkit and Smart Updates should be able to recognize them and and include them into the update and test.

  2. Retrieve the WordPress password and admin username of the customer

We'd like to auto-deploy some wordpress instances on our Plesk server. I've tested the Wordpress Toolkit, and it works great, but I have one problem : The Wordpress admin password isn't sent to the customer.

I know that we can read the password from the Plesk Interface, but I'd like our users to get their wordpress password without having them to log on into Plesk.

Please implement any solution to send the Wordpress password to the customer, e.g to get it trough the API call or to be able to sent the email notification directly from Plesk.

  3. Skip 2FA plugins when logging into Wordpress through the WP Toolkit login button

When the miniOrange 2 Factor Authentication (MFA) plugin is enabled Wordpress Toolkit provides a failed login attempt error and sends a notification before letting to insert MFA. It would be better if when logging in to WP Dashboard from Plesk UI there will be no failed login attempts when any mfa is enabled

  4. Ability to set default timezone for all newly created WordPress instances

    Scenario:
For example the specific time zone is set in Plesk > Tools & Settings > System Tine > You time zone (GMT+03:00) Europe/Sofia

However, after creating a new WordPress instance timezone will be set as UTC +0 in WordPress admin dashboard > Settings > General.

    Request:
Add the ability in WordPress Toolkit use the same timezone which is set in Plesk > Tools & Settings > System Tine > You time zone or ability to set the default time zone for all newly created WordPress instances.

  5. Enable "Compatible With" field in Worpress Theme and Plugin

This is an important update without which you can not guarantee the installation of themes and plugins in compatible versions, causing rework.
Each version of a plugin or theme is compatible with a range of versions of Wordpress and other plugins that are used together to provide the features declared by the developer of a given plugin or theme.
At a first moment you can add the fields below in the "Upload Pugin" or "Upload Theme" screen:
    Wordpress Minimum Version
    Wordpress Maximum Version
These values can be used in the "Install Wordpress" screen to validate the versions being used in…

  6. WP Toolkit default update settings

I would like to enable all "Security Measures" by default, and enable smart update, and auto update for all new plugins and themes by default. Also I would like to force update security updates by default.

  9. Add support to the WordPress Toolkit for sites with different "WordPress URL" and "Site URL" settings

The WordPress settings has an option for the WordPress URL and the Site URL to be different - i.e. the WordPress site files are in a sub-directory. But sites in this configuration do not work properly in the WordPress Toolkit.

Given this is a core feature of WordPress and one used by a lot of sites, I think support for it in the WordPress Toolkit should be a priority.
Details from WordPress about this option:

  10. Add option to create temporary admin account in WordPress Toolkit for support access

Our customers regularly ask us to assist by logging into their WordPress site. It would be very helpful if the WordPress Toolkit had an option to create a temporary additional admin account, allowing us to log into their WordPress website securely for troubleshooting or support.

  11. Text field for notes per WordPress installation

For managing many WordPress installations with WP Toolkit, it would be helpful to be able to add a (searchable) text note to each instance.
Similar to labels, but just a free text field where you can insert a few lines of text.

  12. Is it possible to exclude certain plugins when Cloning/Syncing a WP instance?

Is it possible to exclude certain plugins when CloningSyncing a WP instance?

Example: customer wants to have AWS Cloudfront plugin only on live site and not on staging site. WHen they sync all plugins are copied.

  13. Ability to specify what WordPress sets are available for customers in Service plan

For now, all the existing at "WordPress > Sets" sets are available for customers when they install WordPress.
The idea is to limit available sets in service plan, like available applications in "Applications" tab.

  15. Let wp-cron run every minute by default

Currently, when enabling 'Take over wp-cron.php' and 'Create a replacement task (...)', the cron job that's created only runs twice an hour. (See screenshot attached)

This seems wrong; any Wordpress cronjob that needs to run at a higher interval, will fire too late.
There is no performance benefit to running wp-cron less often, in fact, it might cause performance problems, because late jobs would pile up.

Can the default wp-cron.php interval be changed to every minute, please?

One source that offers some more explanation: https://wpengine.com/support/wp-cron-wordpress-scheduling/

Missed crons and crons that run too frequently can both be resolved by enabling the…

  16. Add Purge Cache button for wordpress instance

Add a button under each wordpress instance for purging cache.
Its a simple solution that should be implemented. Can remove a lot of headache for any support team dealing with customers.

A simple solution that runs with wp cache flush (wp cli), just integrate a button in wp toolkit.

  17. Support update of constants such as WP_PLUGIN_DIR in wp-config.php during Cloning / Copy Data / Smart Update.

Wordpress Toolkit does not support update of constants such as WPPLUGINDIR in wp-config.php during Cloning / Copy Data / Smart Update.

For example if wp-config.php file for example.com is configured with:
    define( 'WPPLUGINDIR', '/var/www/vhosts/example.com/wp-content/plugins' );

and example.com is cloned to staging.example.com the WPPLUGINDIR is not updated.

  18. Add Smart Update to a Service Plan

I would like to be able to add the Smart Updates feature to a specific service plan.

It wouldn’t be activated for all new installations just the users of a specific plan.

I would buy 30 sites of Smart Updates for WPT. If the new customer chooses the 'starter' plan they don't get the Smart Update, if they choose the 'super' plan then they get Smart Update for free. Free meaning it would be deducted from my quantity of sites purchased. Then it would automatically activate on their account.

I love the functionality of Smart Updates and want to make…

  19. Improve WP-Toolkit "Sort by" mechanim

At this moment, whenever a WP site is synced, the appearance of an instance at the top of the list is expected in any sort. This was done in order to make it easier to find an instance in the list.

This means the "Sort by" URL mechanism is not being respected, this change is considered a point of improvement to not cause damage to people relying on the "sort by" mechanism to distinguish their instances.

  20. Add the possibility to customize the WordPress Toolkit Set to install WP in a custom directory

Add the possibility to customize the WordPress Toolkit Set to install WP in a custom directory (e.g., “/wp”) instead of installing it in the root folder (httpdocs)

Reason: The automatic WP installation performed via a WordPress Toolkit Set through a Hosting Plan would work fine if the customer’s current site is not built on WP or another php-based platform, but will fail and mess up their current site if their domain already contains a WP or php-based installation at the root level.
