  1. Setting primary NS server in SOA record

    For now the first registered NS Entry of all listed NS Entries will be the primary NS. Without knowing this it's really difficult to find out which NS will be the primary NS. The outcome of this is a wild change of NS Entries and hoping that the correct entry will be the primary. It would be great if you actually can choose the primary, at least an information what and why will be the primary.

  2. Add Values in Priority of Service and Weight of Service in SRV Records

    hi,

    we are currently using Parallel Plesk 11.0 version and there is one requirement from microsoft provider to add the exact same values in SRV Records.

    Priority of Service = 100
    Weight of Service = 1

    but these values are not available in the dropdownlist. attached are the screenshots.

    So i kindly request to add 100 value in Priority of Service and 1 value in weight of service.

  4. dnsmng --update should increase the zone serial number

    dnsmng --update should increase the zone serial number.
    Also, there should be a command/line way to re-generate all zones.

    Thank you for reporting this bug, we have confirmed it (bug ID for your reference: PPP-37247). Note: only feature requests are allowed here, so we would appreciate if you post bugs and issues on our forum at https://talk.plesk.com. We are closing this request, since it does not contain any feature suggestions.

    The command `plesk repair dns -sync-zones` should help re-generate all zones.

  5. Clear Domain Remnants

    Not sure if it is a local problem with my hosting provider, or a global software problem.

    I had plenty domain aliases.
    I deleted them as domain aliases, and then tried to add them as main domains.

    I received the error: "This DNS record already exists."
    And I could not add the domains.

    So either the software is not set to clean domain remnants, when a domain is being deleted, or it is a local problem with my hosting provider.

  8. Use PowerDNS as a slаve DNS

    Nameservers are running PowerDNS and they automatically create new DNS slаve zones if they receive a NOTIFY from preconfigured IP's.
    Plesk server were added to the list of IP addresses on the slаve DNS.
    Now, it is required to modufy configuration in named.conf as follows:

    options {
    allow-transfer { x.x.x.x; };
    notify yes;
    also-notify { x.x.x.x; };
    };

    But /etc/named.conf file does allow custom configurations only if it is between these lines, which is outside of required section:

    // -- PLEASE ADD YOUR CUSTOM DIRECTIVES BELOW THIS LINE. --
    // ...
    // -- END OF YOUR CUSTOM DIRECTIVES. --

  12. Make a verbose error for the not installed Bind DNS

    While trying to add/change Public IP address the following error is shown: ERR [panel] Argument 1 passed to DnsManagerCommon::updateDomainDNS() must be an instance of Dns_Zone, null given, called in /opt/psa/admin/plib/Ip/Task/UpdateReal.php on line 36:

    Could you please make this error more verbose? For example: Bind must be installed to make this change.

    Thanks in advance.

  14. Include DNSSEC in backup/restore

    Recently I had to restore a couple of domains with DNSSEC and found that DNSSEC had been disabled during the restore.

    This basically means that dns was not working (because the restored domains had no signatures) until the DNSSEC had been re-enabled and the new keys had been copied to the registrar.

    Would it be possible to include DNSSEC data in the Plesk backup/restore functionality?

  17. Automatic default DNS Template on newly added Subdomains and Domains

    When adding a domain or subdomain, I have to enable PHP (I assume for security reasons) and apply the DNS template. For someone who has dynamic subdomains, this can become a pain.

    I'd love some optionality to always enable, or disable PHP & apply the default DNS template on any future subdomain or domain(s) added.

    I see no reason why the DNS template isn't applied by default when adding a new domain and would love the option to always enable this by default when, adding domains.

    Could you please clarify a little bit why do you think that DNS Template is not applied when adding domain?
    The server-wide DNS template is a list of DNS records. Every time a domain is created in Plesk, its DNS zone is populated with DNS records according to the DNS template.

  19. Subnets in SPF record not allowed

    I am not sure why are you even parsing TXT record values, because those can be random text, but one of our clients were trying to add following SPF record:
    v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ip4:85.119.184.0/21 ~all
    syntax of it is perfectly valid but failed with error (see screenshot).

    Later we tried adding ip addresses one by one and it worked, but if this is intentional then this is by far the most annoying "feature" you have ever implemented.

    There is no validation of the structure of TXT record values, except total string length and printable characters, so Plesk accepts the “clean” string from your example without any validation errors. It is possible that you’ve entered some non-printable characters.

    Sorry, but we are closing this item because it is not a feature request. We would appreciate if you ask questions about Plesk and report bugs found in Plesk using our forum (http://talk.plesk.com/).

    Thanks!
