Currently, only the Plesk Administrator has full access to the REST API, while Reseller accounts are limited to XML API calls. This limitation makes it difficult to integrate automation platforms like WHMCS, billing systems, or custom provisioning scripts directly with Reseller accounts.
Allowing Resellers to use the REST API (with appropriate permissions and scope restrictions) would:
Greatly improve automation workflows and integrations with third-party systems.
Reduce the need for Admin credentials, improving security and isolation.
Allow hosting companies to scale better by delegating tasks to Resellers without exposing full server control.
Provide consistency across all account types, since REST API is the future and XML API is legacy.
Enabling REST API for Resellers with limited but essential operations (e.g., customer management, subscription provisioning, domain operations) would make Plesk much more powerful for hosting businesses and increase adoption of automation.
