    This would be very useful in several use cases:
    First two are already explained by the guy who proposed it.
    third one is the possibility for service providers to offer trial subscriptions, so users can subscribe for trial period and during this period either they do not have any domain for the project or they have their project up and running on another server, so they want to test the service evaluate it and after some time migrate their projects and the domain too. Please consider it seriously while this will give more advantages to service providers in general.
