  1. Add management of webmail SSL certificates

I would like to propose the management of SSL certificates for webmail in plesk panel.
Now, unless you use a wildcard certificate, you cannot secure your webmail with a valid SSL certificate.
Please make the SSL certificate used for webmail.<domain> .
Please also add a configurable central url for webmail, with SSL support, and add a redirect option to that url for webmail.<domain>
E.G. visitors for http://webmail.<customerdomain> will be redirected to https://<configuredwebmailurl>

  2. Access suspended subscription owned by administrator

    Plesk version: 11.5

Very simple: as title says, if I suspend domain which is created by me, administator, I'm no longer able to access subscription domains/mails through Control Panel.

  3. eventually fix the mailman bug which is there since plesk 8

After every update to plesk I have to manually fix the mailman entry in /etc/postfix/master.cf
    It should read: mailman unix - n n - - pipe flags=Ru

plesk updates change the flags=R which means that mailing lists are broken if they contain upper case characters.

As far as I know problems in mixed cases in Plesk mail services have been fixed. Have you checked this issue in Plesk 12.5 Preview (http://download1.parallels.com/Plesk/PP12/parallels-plesk-12.1-for-linux-change-log.html) ? If it is reproduced – please write step-by-step instruction how we can check it. Thanks.

UPD: We are closing the request as completed, since no information to the contrary were provided for over a month.

  4. Change MySQL with MariaDB or possibility to chose

It seems that more and more start to change MySQL with MariaDB

"Specifically, Google is moving to its own customized version of MariaDB 10.0. This version of MariaDB is equivalent to MySQL 5.6. Google's version of MariaDB, according to Cole, is "Not really true 'forks' [but are] branches for internal use." He added that Google had been making its own tweaks to the MySQL DBMS family for years."

  5. Prevent warning "The following packages cannot be authenticated"

This warning happens sometimes on some of our servers when the microupdates are installed automatically (I guess). This also happens when upgrading the underlying Debian version (yes, I know this is unfortunately not the preferred Parallels way).

The packages don´t seem to be signed or the key missing (or is it already possible to import the key???), so this could be improved.

  6. Increase migration speed

The current Migration Manager (Linux) is painfully slow. A full server migration (+/- 300GB of data) over Gigabit takes more then 12 hours. During this time lots of website will have changed MySQL data getting lost after the migration.

The issue with the migration system in its current state is that if does site-by-site migration. If migrates site A, then goes to site B, then C, etc, etc. Because each site migration consists of a alot of different steps the servers are mostly waiting for each other to finish some process like creating mailboxes.

The load on both the source…

In 12.5 we changed from PMM that performed operations step by step to Migrator extension, which performs data transfer in multiple data streams. The feature to make it fully asynchronous operations not only for transfer stage as well as other performance improvements (specifically for Windows migrations) is in the cards.

Please let us know on https://talk.plesk.com if still have problems with migration speed.

  7. distupgrade for Debian and Ubuntu (i.e. Debian Squeeze to Debian Wheezy)

This used to work with previous Debian versions (e.g. Etch -> Lenny, Lenny -> Squeeze) but it doesn´t seem to be possible with Squeeze -> Wheezy.

The proposed way of "updating" is to make a backup and restore it on a new server. As we have 50+ servers this simply isn´t feasible: We cannnot get a new server and transfer multiple customer domains (some using external DNS) for each of those servers. This would cause long downtimes and problems with data being transferred that is changed on the old server (from website users).

It has been possible before so it…

I would be nice, if the admin can see all scheduled backup jobs in one view and has the possibility to mange them easily.

  9. To not allow the selection of a local folder when selecting an external backup repository.

When performing a backup or scheduled backup in Plesk 11 to an external FTP repository, you can define the backup destination as a local file within the folder structure you are backing up (as in you are using the external FTP repository to back up locally). This causes a backup file to be generated that is many GB in size. The domain and/or subscription then gets suspended. There should be a check in place to not allow backups have a destination within the file structure that is being backed up.

  10. Application "Joomla 3.2.2" - Language and sample data BUG

I've installed Joomla 3.2.2 as Application in Plesk Panel 11.5.
I selected that I don't want to install sample data and that Joomla should be in German.

    But there are sample data.
And German is selected as default language, but my administrator page is already in English.

Is there a bug in Plesk-Application?

  11. Presence Builder should be OPTIONAL in any Plesk installation and not be included by default.

Is really annoying to have "something" in your settings that you will never use.

  12. Increase maximum supported IP addresses

It looks like the change from Plesk 9.5.4 to 11.5.30 reduced the maximum allowed IP addresses down to 200 or so. When you try to re-read the IP addresses you get an error/crash. We used to be able to add as many IP's as we wanted, but I'm told its now limited to 200 or 256 (but I get a failure when I've added just 235 addresses). With the deployment of IPv6 we will need much more.

  13. Easier manual backup recovery process!

The current method in which backups are managed is neat but extremely difficult to deal with. Even the documentation is a bit lousy. It would be great if there was a single, easy tool to extract a portion of a backup. This would make managing LARGE site backups much easier. I just went through pain when extracting files from the backup.

You can probably preview our better recovery process in upcoming Plesk 12.0 version. It allows choosing selected parts of backup to recover (up to individual file).

If you already tried Plesk 12.0, please tell us your opinion in https://docs.google.com/forms/d/10kOuXE5uFDtMf3SfqneS_CwlAxTHYl2eSFwJ-yNLAMg/edit

If you didn’t try Plesk 12.0 yet, you can get it at http://sp.parallelsnetwork.com/plesk-12-preview/

  19. Adjust column widths in the Domain Files table to handle "rwx rwx rwx"

Currently, the Files table has 5 columns.

The Name column has flexible width and takes up most of the table width.

The Permissions column is fixed to contain the seetings "rwx r-x r-x ". However, if permissions are changed to "rwx rwx rwx" the column is too narrow and forces the cell to wrap, increasing row height and reducing visible rows.

There is plenty of width in the table to handle this without wrapping. Could you re-set the column widths to cope with this please?

    Thankyou.
