Improvements to Backup Manager
I (and other users, I believe) would like to see the following improvements to the Backup Manager:
- "IAM User Access Key Secret" is not saved when accessing the Remote Storage Settings screen. The secret should be saved, just as the ID is.
- Automatic creation of path in remote storage.
- Backup Manager should only display backups from that subscription/domain/user if Backup Manager is set to save all backups to the same folder (see https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006529173-Plesk-Backup-Manager-shows-backups-from-different-subscriptions)
- A full server backup on a remote storage is impossible to do if the server has less than 50% available disk space.…1 voteThank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, this request contains several different suggestions, and it’s not technically possible to properly handle them inside one request. Please consider creating separate feature requests for each of the items with all retails about desired usage scenario, expected benefits, etc.

To match the expiration date with current date
Hi there
Today is 20 November and the expiration day is 22 November. But already all tasks include back up are suspended. I suggest managers to match these days and let users use all features till the last second.
Best Regards.

Why not adding possibility to backup entire harddrive?
With plesk I can easily backup single domains. Thats really good but not really helpful as I need to backup entire server. I made a lot of custom changings directly on ssh. Why is there no function in plesk to backup the entire hard drive?
1 voteFirst – you can backup whole Plesk server (not only one domain) as administrator.
Second – you can’t backup hard drive where Plesk and many other processes are running. Backup will be inconsistent. Moreover, physical access to hard drive is required.
So, backup of hard drive is Linux administrator’s task but not Plesk administrator.

Bacula backup system or similar
Integrate Bacula system or similar backup system, with a clean-easy panel configuration =) , mysql integration and other setups to work fine =) =) =)
6 votesThis feature request has not received a lot of votes. For that reason we suggest to ask Bacula if they would like to develop an extension for Plesk to integrate their offer with Plesk. There are many other backup or storage space vendor extensions already. Also check out the Plesk Backup to Cloud Pro package that expands the backup options to many commonly used platforms.

Add Duplicati 2.0
https://www.duplicati.com/download
it can blow AES backups to amazon cloud..
8 votesThis feature has not become popular over many years. For that reason we must decline it. Instead we suggest using the "Backup Cloud Pro" extension by which you can easily do secure cloud backups to various cloud services. https://www.plesk.com/extensions/offer-complete-backup-solution/

Return backup file name features to 12.5
I know that the backup feature was rewritten in 12.5, but it is very difficult to easily identify various server and individual site backups on a remote FTP drive now that all you see displayed in the UI is the date / time. The backup features of 12.0 that included adding a prefix to the file name and also being able to actually see the file name is sorely missed.
27 votesThere are a number of reasons. The length of the paths to store backups is limited on Windows, complication of the structure due to the introduction of incremental backups, simplify backup representation in UI (after increments appeared, file names do not become human readable).
Support of prefixes makes life very difficult due to these reasons, and the rotation of backups based on prefixes in general has become a puzzle.
So we went to a small degradation, which may be solved elementary by user – putting backups in its own subdirectories. You can discussion this issue on our talk.plesk.com .

Backup-Manager: Show planned backups schedule
Short info in website specific backup manager, if there are scheduled backups planned, and if so then show the schedule. Additional a overview table in server wide backup manager with all schedule backups of each website, e.g.:
domain | daily/weekly/monthly | weekday/date | time | next schedule date | option to editAt the moment you can set scheduled backups and just get a short message, that is is planned, but you can't find the info anywhere anymore. So if I don't remember, I maybe set another scheduled backup and I've no idea, if the first one is reset by…

Start the backup only if your server has the specified amount of free disk space (in megabytes) *
why MB?
why is the input field so small?
why only 5 digits?we need GB!!! or?
42 votesFrom the comments it became clear that the reason for this feature request was that only a limited number of digits could be entered into the input field. This however has long been resolved. Technically it should be quite easy to enter MB instead of GB, too. Changing the field to GB will actually decrease flexibility, because the granularity decreases. For that reason we are closing this feature request.

Make FTP Backup more robust
Make FTP Backup more robust. I constantly get messages that either FTP Backup didn't work or that it made a full backup instead of a incremental.
Also when i open the backup list, often the FTP backups aren't shown the first time... then i need to reload the page.It seems that there is a low timeout or something else that is wrong.
The FTP goes to a 1 gig synchronous NAS in our office and i hear the disk spinning up for a few seconds (the disks go to sleep on inactivity).Maybe this spinup time breaks the backup…

Multiply backups local rule + ftp rule
option 2 set 2 or more backup rules.
now its very time comsumming to download a backup from a FTP location if you want to restore 1 single subscription. My idea is to make 2 rules. So I can restore the backup of the previous day from local. And if I need an older backup I can download it from a FTP location.
1) 14+ days backup retention backup to FTP backup
2) 1 day backup retention on local serverAt this point I only can setup 1, local or FTP.

Add third party installations, paths/directories to your plesk backup
I would like to be able to add custom paths to plesk backup that i can backup different third party installations and folders. For Example i have a gitlab and mosquitto on my root server running unfortunately they are not getting backuped up by plesk. If it possible i would like to have a whole backup of all data on my server in one location. So please make it possible that we can add custom paths to plesk backup and restore them together or separately, it is not necessary to fullfill all dependencies, that would be great in addition that…

We finally declined this request. If you want to back up some website separately, the best way is to create a separate webspace for it.

Make Acronis Backup available on Plesk Onyx for Windows.
Currently, Acronis Backup is only available for Linux.
Please make it available for Plesk Onyx for Windows.

Give better information regarding backups created in higher level.
When a customer in Plesk removes a subscription-level backup which is a part of full-server backup (or reseller's backup and some customer's backup in case of special rights), it is not displayed anymore in subscription's backup manager. However, it is not actually removed from the server. This confuses customers because they are not aware of what actually occupies so much disk space.
Feature suggestion: make some note/banner in customer's backup manager to inform them that there are some backups which were created on a higher level.
Or
Prevent backup deletion if created at an higher level.2 votesThank you for your input!

Plesk should recognize the failure of backup at FTP Storage as an emailable error.
In Scheduled Backup settings, you can tick; "if errors occur during the execution of this backup tasks send a notification email to...". However, if the backup is set up to go to FTP Storage and the FTP site can't be reached, the backup is done to the Server Storage and no error email is sent. This is a problem because if a few days of backups intended for FTP Storage fail and go to Server Storage, contracted server space could be exceeded causing Plesk to suspend / disable the site.
Plesk should complete the backup to the Server Storage, but…
