  3. php|php3|php4|php5 file extension support

    plesk does not support other file extensions then php with fastcgi.

    as it supports it with mod_php, it would be great if fastcgi also does it the same way.

    the fix is simple to add:

    /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/templates/default/service/phpoverfastcgi.php
    <IfModule mod_fcgid.c>
    <Files ~ (\.(php|php3|php4|php5)$)>
    SetHandler fcgid-script
    FCGIWrapper <?php echo $VAR->server->webserver->apache->phpCgiBin ?> .php
    FCGIWrapper <?php echo $VAR->server->webserver->apache->phpCgiBin ?> .php3
    FCGIWrapper <?php echo $VAR->server->webserver->apache->phpCgiBin ?> .php4
    FCGIWrapper <?php echo $VAR->server->webserver->apache->phpCgiBin ?> .php5
    Options +ExecCGI
    </Files>
    </IfModule>

  5. Ability to add lighttpd as reverse proxy for apache

    Just as nginx is able to be added as a reverse proxy, also add the option of lighttpd - with streaming support (including module: mod_secdownload). If I'm understanding correctly, thing with having nginx process php files, is that it needs .htaccess rules 'translating' which might not be a straightforward matter (or even viable) if they are complex ones.

  10. Implement AppArmor support for Apache

    AppArmor provides much stronger security for web applications than what is currently available, especially since PHP open_basedir is both slow and known to be insecure.

    With AppArmor you don't need such settings, and it is possible to allow PHP functions such as exec() and system() - but only allow access to certain binaries. This provides a more flexible system for our customers, and we have more fine-grained control over what they can and cannot access.

    http://wiki.apparmor.net/index.php/Mod_apparmor_example

    Additional AppArmor profiles for services that come with Plesk might be useful too, but securing Apache is the main thing.
