  1. Implement logic for DDOS protected domains

As a hosting company we should have an option to give customers ddos protection.

The only implementation that works great is taking a domain, secure it with ddos protection service and generate customers a subdomain under this domain.

Lets say, example.com is protected under ddos protection software.
A customer clicks on "add domain" and if we blocked the option to add any domains, there will be only generated a subdomain under example.com, EG: website1223153.example.com

This subdomain would be protected by a ddos protection service.
The customer can create a CNAME to website1223153.example.com in order to connect his domain to the…

Effective DDoS protection can only be done by hardware solutions that are installed between Internet and server. Traffic directed to the server must be analyzed, and in case of DDoS it must be blocked before it reaches the server, because bandwith of NICs and CPU power will always be too small to cope with attacks. Once an attack reaches the server it is "too late". For that reason we suggest speaking with your data center instead if they can provide a suitable router before your server or maybe you can check a well-known cloud service through which traffic to the host and domains hosted on that host is routed.

  2. Allow logging in to webmail with alias credentials

Please allow logging in to webmail with alias credentials.

For example, if a main domain's mailbox mail@example.com has an alias mail@alias.com, they should both be able to log in to webmail.example.com with the same password.

Allowing different user names for the same target mailbox broadens the attack surface. We do not see why it can make using a mailbox easier, as it is still the same mailbox and can equally well be opened with one set of defined login credentials. Also this request did not become popular. For these reasons we must decline it.

  3. Allow creation of database users on different database servers configured on Plesk

In case when more than one database server are available on the Plesk server, e.g two or more MSSQL servers, it is possible to enable the "Database server selection" option on the subscriptions's service plan which allows creation of databases and database users on any database server available by default

It would be great, however, if the ability to create databases and database users on all database servers available were enabled separately, like below:

    • Option on service plan to allow creation of databases on any database server available, in case this option disabled, the subscription would be able to create…

  6. A button to manually reissue SSLs for all domains

Can we get a button to manually reissue SSLs for all domains and subdomains?

I had a few issues in the past year because SSLs didn't automatically renew which made me lose hours with support tickets.

I would prefer to hit the button "Reissue SSL for domains" once every 60 days over relying that everything will just work automatically.

Reissuing SSL certificates for all domains on a server cannot solve any issue. Reissueing certificates automatically makes no difference to the automatic renewal attempt of SSLIt/Let's Encrypt. Instead, the correct solution to solve renewal issues of certificates is to check the "Keep websites secured" checkbox on the SSL page of the domain. Then, if aliases or subdomains that were formerly included in a certificate , that have been removed meanwhile are now missing can be excluded from the automatic renewal process. A second reason why such a reissue button for all domains is a bad idea is that LE rate limiting will be hit on servers with a certain number of domains. For many users it will then become impossible to issue new certificates for a certain ban time.

So overall this feature request cannot be an appropriate approach to solve SSL renewal issues. We must decline it.

  7. Enable Prometheus integration with Plesk

Please enable Plesk integration with the Prometheus toolkit - using this tool would allow monitoring multiple Plesk servers from a single platform.

  11. Need more than 44KB/s throughput in File Manager

With FTP not working, I am left to use the file manage in Plesk. However it is painfully slow, circa 1995 dialup speeds at 44KB/s. You really need to improve the throughput of the file manager at least 10x to make it reasonably usable. Please.

There is no any special speed limit for the file manager from the side of Plesk.

It looks like this is some kind of problem on your side.

I suggest you contact Plesk technical support. Experienced supporters will check and fix the problem directly on your server.

  13. Show if server needs reboot

It should be nice to have a notification if server needs reboot inside plesk.

Like after big updates ( kernel , os components ... )

Like message when you connect to SU in SSH.

As major operating system changes that require a reboot (such as the mentioned Kernel upgrade) are not subject of updates that can be done from within Plesk, a reboot message is not needed. This request did not gain popularity either, so we must decline it.

It'd be great to have an option to import a MySQL database from an external servers to Plesk. For example, download and import it by the means of the "site import" extension.

  15. Add Hosting services payment options for 1 year 3 years and 5 years

Myself and so many other business owners prefer to pay for hosting services in advance, usually selecting a 5-years package if available. This would make keeping track of payment so much easier and give options other than monthly.

  16. Add possibility to set "Can be used to log in to Plesk" unchecked by default during mail account creation

Creating mail account In Plesk panel Domains > example.com > Mail accounts > Create Email Address has an option "Can be used to log in to Plesk" which is checked by default.
There can be a situation when you can by mistake leave the option checked but you don't plan to permit to log in to Plesk with created mail account.
So it would be convenient to have this option unchecked by default.

Logging in to Plesk as the mailbox user will only allow that user to edit his own settings of that mailbox, e.g. the password. The effect of this option is marginal. We are also only talking about a preset change from "checked" to "unchecked". It's only a mouseclick to uncheck the box, and when the default is changed to "unchecked" other users will complain that they now need to check this box each time they add a mailbox.

As this feature did not become popular and as the setting is already optional we must decline it.

  17. Please remember the security rule IDs in ModSecurity

In Plesk >Tools & Settings > Web Application Firewall (ModSecurity), I use OWASP and added some carefully selected "Security rule IDs" to be deactivated.

When I change rule set from OWASP to Comodo, apply it. It seems these "Security rule IDs" are lost. When I switch back from Comodo to OWASP, the textarea for "Security rule IDs" is empty.

Can we remember them even switched to another rule set? I only came up with these IDs with hours of hard work.

  18. Re desing the new UI for creating customers in Plesk

Please re-design of the 20% popup screen which now opens when you create a new customer. A better approach / solution would be a new screen in the middle of the viewing area (e.g. 80% in size centered). Currently it's situated on the left side. It would already be much better when the new screen is centered in the middle, instead stickied to the left side.

UI changes are an ongoing process. Plesk collects feedback from many sources and constantly updates the user interface as a result from evaluation of many user requests. At the moment there are no plans to change the drawer behavior, but rest assured that we keep monitoring usage and will continue to constantly improve.

  19. Add possibility to switch to old "Add customer" interface

New "Add customer" interface added in 18.0.37 usability improvements.

It's required to add a possibility to select previous interface.

    Reasons:
    1. I worked quicker
    2. The form doesn't utilize the whole screen.

The Plesk user interface is undergoing constant evaluation and improvements that are based on a wide variety of user feedback like yours. We are seriously considering all feedback, but as returning to a previous state of the "add customer" dialog did not become popular, we currently have no plans to move backward. Rest assured that Plesk will keep monitoring user requirements and update the "add customer" interface accordingly.

  20. NS in the firewall

About the firewall, access can currently be allowed from manually added IP addresses. I think it would be a good idea to be able to add nameservers to allow FTP and SSH access from places where the IP changes periodically.
