Allow using a centralized SmarterMail Server for BOTH LINUX and WINDOWS Plesk installations
The implementation of the centralized smartermail in plesk onyx for windows is good, but it should also be possible to integrate this feature into the linux edition.
Many hosters provide both windows and linux hosting with ONE centralised mail solution. Since the integration for winodws is already done I suppose it shouldn't be too hard to integrate it into the linux version as well since smartermail is completely API based.
Thank you for your input! We will consider this functionality in upcoming releases if it will be popular.
Everyone, please continue voting for this feature if you consider it important.

Here we create a new portal that integrate with plesk and smartermail and offer only hosting in plesk.

We're a cross-platform host and over 15 years with Plesk we have found that customers really like SmarterMail and really don't like Horde. While Horde might be very capable it's a UI/UX embarrassment after folks have used SmarterMail.
We started a centralized SM server as soon as it was offered, does a great job and keeps our management overhead low, but can't understand why the same functionality isn't extended to Plesk for Linux. We have asked for this for years, doesn't seem that hard to implement.

After waiting years....I stopped paying a premium for the Windows Web server and the premium of Plesk Hosting Pack(using ONLY for the remote smartermail) and manually moved every subscription to a new Plesk running on Linux. Went completely standalone with Plesk not managing email, which is such a shame - but I was wasting so much money for years and Plesk just isnt interested). Hope they make it for the rest of you!!

Add me to the list too. I really need Remote SmarterMail for Plesk for Linux

This is too ridiculously easy to include and Plesk is doing nothing about it. Its not as if you are getting Unix to talk to Windows...you are using a common language, REST API, which works easily!
Come on Plesk! Can you add this in your glorious 17.9 release and make us happy so we can get rid of costly Windows servers that can possibly run much better on Linux??

we have a total of 900 licenses. If it doesn't, I'il cancel this month and switch to different panels.

It was there on PPA 11.5, and looks like still compatible with new SM. So implementation should be an easy task ?!
Come on, 3 years further and still 0 action!

This is a very important thing for us and i'm quite surprised, that Plesk for Linux doesn't support it.
Actually it would easy to implement this, while the biggest part of the code is already there to use REST API. -

please guys....why do I have to pay extra $$$ to run a windows web server, which is slower and not as good as linux, JUST to have the remote smartermail....come on guys it doesnt sound like a really hard feature to implement :(

Given that Smartmail's REST API is already a known quantity in Windows, I can't get my head around Plesk won't develop this.
I've asked via support, via email, in person to developers and account managers, but it falls on deaf ears

It was present under Automation 11.5 as a plugin and was working perfect, why is it so hard to provide this?
