It's really important to map uniform resource names to concrete resources, and NAPTR records really help standardise this. This would be really helpful not to have this as a big omission.

it does seem odd to have a PTR and no NAPTR record, but there's a whole load of these things that seem to be completely missing. To me, it seems unusual that the same scheme that is used in CloudFlare that basically covers all currently accepted IETF RRs cannot just be implemented overnight.

For some applications, for example, EDUROAM platform, the NAPTR record is necessary for the domain.
In Plesk there's not ability to add a DNS NAPTR record via UI, despite the fact that manually adding it to bind config works (until Plesk won't rewrite DNS configs).
The request is to add the opportunity to add NAPTR records the same way that A or MX record can be added.
