Restore Backup to alternative domain
When restoring a Backup of the domain it would be beneficial if you could restore it to a different domain.
There sometimes is the case that data has to be extracted from an old backup, but the current domain state can't be overwritten.
Thank you for your input! We will consider this functionality in upcoming releases if it will be popular. Everyone, please continue voting for this feature if you consider it important.

Its definetly a functionality that would have helped us out a few times before. I think for about 6 or 7 important websites for us this year alone.
So i would consider it a Critical feature that should be added as soon as possible. -

Totally agree. today, I wanted to restore domain A.com to b.com to check a prior Wordpress configuration... and can't do it!
This is something that cPanel could do for 20+ years...

WHen restoring a Backup it would be beneficial if you could restore it to a different domain so as not to overwrite the existing domain.
This is particularly useful as it allows you to access database / files to see what has changed since the backup was created to help identify issues/errors, but doesn't destroy the curent domain in the process.
(our existing workaround at the moment is to manually backup the database and files - restore the backup - back this up manually and then recreate it in a new subdomain, then restore the first manual backup into the original domain again. This results in a required period of downtime on the domain though, depending on how long it takes to complete the process)
