ssms could use a little more help. I am still trying to figure out the ip addr of sql server.. it would be if there was a mockkup in html to show the info used precisely (not generically) for my database.. if the ip addr is the same as the web server, then of course.. mention the dns used is internal, and you have a better chance of ice skating in **** than connecting with ssms

If the hostname listed in Tools & Settings > Database Servers is "localhost" the hostname and the server IP address are the same.
