powerdns support
It'd be awesome if we can get support for powerdns support instead of bind9.
Everyone, please continue voting for this feature if you consider it important.

commented1 vote != 1 server so this is pointless.

Chris commented PowerDNS has a better feature set, support for Alias records (CNAME at root level) and can use a DB backed for the slaves so no rndc missed notifications on servers with lots of domains.

Manfred Warta commented How many additional votes, since this request startet in 2014 (!!!), are 'important' that it will come to development? I just ask for a friend :-)

Steven Hagting commented Yes, please add support for the best DNS system (i.e. PowerDNS).
-
Павел Астахов commented Please add this as configurable option. So we'll be able to configure single PDNS database for multiple Plesk instances and drop DNS slaving.

commentedSupport for PowerDNS wouldn't be that much different than Bind9. Currently Plesk uses rndc to make modifications to Bind9. I don't see how that would be much different than using pdnsutil to do the same thing. The commands aren't that much different and powerdns scales way better than Bind9 does and it's not susceptible to the same security issues. Moreover, CPanel and Plesk are both owned by the same company. Seems to me that sharing the code is a no-brainer.
