   You can use Fail2ban with Joomla, but will need a regx creating to read joomla logs

   /var/www/vhosts/*/httpdocs/log/error.php

   The limits I looking at would be on a specific user say -

   user : abc can be locked to only be able to connection from IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. Also the FTP user access could be locked not to allow connection - a tickbox say. Protected against the FTP user from being hacked when not required.
