  2. Mailpile support (secure mail server option)

    In light of the Snowden fallout, I hope that Plesk will add support for Mailpile (http://www.mailpile.is) or something similar for secure e-mail.

    Thank you for your input!

    Mailpile is meant to be a local e-mail client which is installed to the personal computer (https://www.mailpile.is/faq/#wha) and secure your mail by fetching it from server, deleting from server and securely storing on local disk. It is not considered as webmail client which is installed on the server. It works with mail server over standard protocols (SMTP, POP3, IMAP) which are supported by Plesk, so you may install use it without any limitations.
    Though, as it has the web interface and written on Python, it may be installed to a web server, but it’s not recommended for security and privacy reasons.

    Unfortunately, we have no plans to integrate it with Plesk panel.

  3. Ad Web-Browser for accessing local config-pages of 3rd-party services

    An integrated Web-Browser for accessing configuration-pages of 3rd-party services on localhost would be fine.
    For example:
    We are using "Fuseki" wich is a RDF-Query server. This Service comes with a Web-accessible configuration-interface and does not support authentication. So i limited access to "localhost" because i dont want to make this thing public. But i want to make the config-page available to admins. It would be great it they just can open a browser from inside plesk-panel and enter the localhost-URL of the service-page. (Maybe with bookmarks). The browser itself my be limited to localhost-access for security reasons.

    Thanks for your suggestion.

    We are verifying updates of top applications (like Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal and few others), but we are not committed to verifying updates of all applications.

    Realistically we are not planning to fully verify each update of each application in APS catalog. So general precaution for updates is recommended – same if you were going to update it from their original download.

    Cron service itself decides what is safe time to run daily tasks, Plesk doesn’t control it

    If on Linux, check out /etc/crontab for setting comfortable time:

    SHELL=/bin/bash
    PATH=/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin
    MAILTO=root
    HOME=/

    _ # run-parts
    37 * * * * root run-parts /etc/cron.hourly
    _ # !!! edit the line below !!!
    17 0 * * * root run-parts /etc/cron.daily
    4 0 * * 0 root run-parts /etc/cron.weekly
    15 5 10 * * root run-parts /etc/cron.monthly

    It will change all your daily tasks, not just Plesk updates

  11. Paging \ SMS Alerts

    Paging \ SMS alerts would be a handy feature for admins. If a critical server has failed, it would be useful for an admin to get an instant notification and not rely on checking emails for warning messages when something really goes wrong.

  13. Preset Log Rotation

    Computer Act require Hosting Provider to collect Server Log for investigation reason. but current Plesk 11, Admin have to set it manually. in case we use "custom view", it effect only first webspace but the domain that create under webspace is not apply in this policy.

    Please improve it to be pre-configure in provisioning

  16. Add secondary email address to contact data

    If a mail user or subscription owner forget their mail account password, password recovery information will be mailed to the single stored email address.
    How should the user retrieve that email ?????
    Therefore an alternate (secondary) email address is a MUST HAVE!!

    In the rare case when mail user or subscription owner forget their mail account password and they cannot recover it, they can always contact hoster to change the password. You can also put secondary e-mail in the Description field, in case you’ll need to e-mail them.

    Given that this request isn’t popular, it looks like people have efficient ways to resolve it, so unfortunately we have to decline it.

  17. to crete a GUI for the spamfilter.

    Within the GUI it should be possible to manage the most common tasks of SpamAssassin like the following:

    • sa-update set up a cronjob for downloading new rules and scores automatically
    • sa -learn spamfilter training for side/server wide configuration -managing of black and whitelists -adding custom rules and scores

    A GUI for the spamfilter in conjunction with the planned GUI for the Greylisting will help administrators to reduce the load of incoming spam in a more comfortable way

  19. add an SPF record to the DNS template

    SPF information is so far entered through the TXT record. Adding the emerging new SPF record would make sense.

    Thank you for your input! We do not plan for adding support of SPF record as a resource record (RR).

    [...]
    3.1.  DNS Resource Records
       SPF records MUST be published as a DNS TXT (type 16) Resource Record
       (RR) [RFC1035] only. The character content of the record is encoded
       as [US-ASCII]. Use of alternative DNS RR types was supported in
       SPF's experimental phase but has been discontinued.
    [...]
