Improve knowledgebase article on testing prior to DNS migration
You suggest use of the hosts file to point the domain at HostGator prior to DNS migration. This does not work in most cases for Windows Enterprise shared hosting.
Further, using the temporary domain solution you support, ASP.Net applications do not work if they require a web.config file (which they almost always do)
My understanding is that, although you recommend these approaches in your knowledgebase article, you do not actually support them. Assuming the issues above cannot easily be fixed, the documentation needs to provide a warning that they do not work with Windows shared hosting.. Further add a suggestion to use a different (currently unused) test subdomain (that can be pointed at HostGator immediately) for testing rather than the intended domain. That is not ideal, but better than wasting time trying to make it work, especially as some of your support staff seem to be unaware that the techniques cannot work, but under instructions not to investigate.
