Thank you for your feature request. It can be challenging to perform a Joomla in-place update, but it will no be possible to automate it. Joomla itself does not provide an automated upgrade path and also clearly warns to take precautions. They also mention in their guide https://docs.joomla.org/Joomla_3.x_to_4.x_Step_by_Step_Migration/en that extensions must be checked individually.
As not even Joomla themselves provide an automated upgrade-path this feature cannot be added at this time. Maybe in the future such in-place upgrades from one major version to another will become possible.
