Enable chrooted sftp for more than one user per account

If I use FTP, I can make as many users as I want. For various reasons, using FTP is not optimal at my workplace. I'd like to be able to let each ftp user I create log in with chrooted sftp.

I'm able to modify /etc/passwd and /var/www/vhosts/example.org/etc/passwd to make it work, but doing that manually kind of defeats the point of using a tool like Plesk...

Specifically, I give the ftp user the same home directory, and shell as the initial sftp user has in each passwd file.

    This has caused us lots of problems for a while with some horrible work arounds in place involving subdomains and then scripts syncing files around.

    An update to give this freedom would be really welcomed!

    Please implement this! The workaround is working, however, users added this way can see all the domains on the server... They cannot access them, but still see them. And this is a risk.

    This really needs to be implemented asap as we have clients starting to (correctly) not let us use the FTP protocol as it's insecure.

    Ill up vote this update... we are losing security by allowing FTP connections.... so as to have multiple accounts per domain

    I'd also like to see this happen. Personally I'd like it if there was a separate button next to FTP Access e.g. SFTP Users with the option to set the home directory for each user.

    There would also need to be a limit on subscription level to how many SFTP users can be created to ensure reasonable usage.

    Then developers would benefit a lot by being able to use sshfs.
