smtp
Dear all,
I look for having forwarding email in plex with the ability for the mail user to send mail by SMTP. It seems not possible to have a SMTP access without creating a mailbox and then using space size even if all is forwarded directly.
Could you please indicate me the way to solve this issue ?
Thanks a lot advance.
AG
Unfortunately, we have to close your request, because over the years it has not become quite popular for further implementation.

Hi,
I too am looking for a solution to this:
I want to be able to setup a forwarding mailaddress (me@example.com) that would allow using it as an SMTP but again, without the mailbox (as it's all being forwarded to i.e. gmail)That way i could have a gmail account, receive my me@example.com mail there but also send it from there via Plesk to the outside world. Thus the need for an SMTP credential (me@example.com / password) but again without the local storage of incoming mail...

I'd like this too but for other purposes. I want to be able to enable SMTP without the server trying to relay the mail locally (but actually looks at the MX record to send the e-mail). I have clients that want to use the SMTP-service for e-mails that are send by cloud applications but when mail services are enabled, mails send to the same domain are being (incorrectly) relayed locally.

Thanks AG, this is interesting solution

In fact, I don't want to use disk size to store mail on the server. So I prefer use a forwarding adress for email accounts I create.
Nevertheless I want that mails sent by users pass through the server by SMTP because I don't want that the destinataire could see the initial "real" adress (external SMTP account) of the sender. For instance, for mails sent through Gmail SMTP, the gmail account is visible in header. Not very secure and professionnal. So I look for a way to have a single SMTP account where all email users could be plugged in to send mails upon there corporate adress.
