Tomcat 8 and option vor custom Vm startoptions
Adding Tomcat 8 with java 8 suport and the option to choose betwean java 7 or 8 in addition it would be nice to be able to provide custom vm start parameter

Sorry, but we are dropped out support of java and Tomcat technology in the latest versions of Plesk due to low demand and resource intensity of development.

Definitely need Tomcat8 do deploy an Application (Tomcat8 is required).
This suggestion is more than two years old and I could not find any documentation about Tomcat8 on Plesk.
Is there any progress about Tomcat8 integration or could you please provide a step-by-step guide to install Tomcat8 on a Plesk-Server (Plesk Onyx Version 17.5.3 Update-Nr. 23) ?
