  1. Domain blacklist

    We would like customers to manage their domains themselves but limit them to a list of domains defined by the reseller/admin.

    It would be great if a customer could e.g. define himself which domain (alias) should belong to which hosting package.

    The problem at the moment is: If we give customer A the privileges to manage his domains, he could also add a foreign domain (NOT on the server) and configure mail accounts, e.g. *@ebay.com. The result would be that any mail another customer B who also uses our server sends to this domain could be "captured" by customer A.…

  2. Protect plesk gui 11.5.30 with "basic auth" login (optional)

    Hi,

    I'm the only one with access to plesk gui and want a additional "basic auth" protection for 11.5.30. I have MANY access from foreign IPs to my plesk login! Every day IPs testing direct script access (old security holes?). A "basic auth" login will protect the gui for new security leaks.

    11.0.9 use as internal web server lighttpd. There you can make this simple steps to protect gui:

    go to: /etc/sw-cp-server/applications.d/plesk.socket.sh
    add:

    # Limit access to Admin
    auth.backend = "htpasswd"
    auth.backend.htpasswd.userfile = "/opt/psa/admin/htdocs/.htpasswd"
    auth.require = ( "/" =>
    (
    "method" => "basic",
    "realm" => "Your Title",
    "require" => "valid-user"…

  4. Add passive FTP to default Plesk Config and Firewall rule

    Right now it's required to add the passive FTP range in the FTP config and then add another firewall rule to let the clients access it.

    Please make this default to the FTP config or at least configurable in the server security settings or even in the global FTP settings page.

    Thanks!

    Firwall rules
    Name: z.B Passive FTP-Transfer
    Direction: Incoming
    Action: Allow
    Ports: e.g. 49150 - 65000 TCP (don't use ports below 10000 for security reasons)
    File: /etc/proftpd.conf
    Between <global> and </global> add the following lines:
    PassivePorts 49150 65000
    Restart service: service xinetd restart

  5. Let users choose the Laravel version to use

    As of October 2023, Plesk provides Laravel 8.8x, but I would like to use 10.x. On Stackexchange I found this solution https://stackoverflow.com/questions/77441919/laravel-toolkit-change-default-version how to change the Laravel version. Not sure yet whether it works.

    It would be good if I could select the Laravel version directly in the toolkit.

  6. not changing event_id for event_handler

    Hi
    We built some scripts to add some new events by CLI (due it is not possible by XML- API) to our over 70 Plesk installations. We detected, that in several Plesk installations (even with the same Plesk- Version number), the IDs of the events (plesk bin event_handler --list-events) changes. So we can't use a script. We always have to check and fix the "Event" manually. it would be helpfull to use static ids (even for different versions of plesk) or a speaking id (exp. "reseller-limit-changed", "susbscripion-limit-changed")...
    Best regards

  7. “Updates and Upgrades”-Tool (8447) doesn’t work with ECDHE-ECDSA certificate

    I changed certificate that secures Plesk. The new certificate is an ECDHE-ECDSA certificate, the default Plesk certificate is an RSA certificate. I’ve noticed that parallelsinstaller is not reachable on port 8447 (after clicking on “Updates and Upgrades” in “Tools & Settings”), in combination with the new ECDHE-ECDSA certificate. parallelsinstaller is started, listen on port 8447, doesn’t write any error to any log file and everything seems to be ok. But the web browsers say “ERRSSLVERSIONORCIPHERMISMATCH” (Vivaldi/Chrome) and “SSLERRORNOCYPHEROVERLAP” (Firefox). No cipher is accepted, I’ve tested all available from OpenSSL.

    We’ve released Let’s Encrypt Extension 2.7.2: https://ext.plesk.com/packages/f6847e61-33a7-4104-8dc9-d26a0183a8dd-letsencrypt

    Changelog:
    2.7.2 (17 January 2019)
    [*] In Plesk for Linux 17.8 and later, the extension now supports issuing ECDSA certificates. To have the extension issue certificates signed with ECDSA, add the following lines to the panel.ini file:
    [ext-letsencrypt]
    key-algorithm = ECDSA
    ecdsa-curve-name = prime256v1 ; can be omitted

  8. Application "Joomla 3.2.2" - Language and sample data BUG

    I've installed Joomla 3.2.2 as Application in Plesk Panel 11.5.
    I selected that I don't want to install sample data and that Joomla should be in German.

    But there are sample data.
    And German is selected as default language, but my administrator page is already in English.

    Is there a bug in Plesk-Application?

  10. Let us have Plesk cGroups Manager out of the box

    I think that with the price of cloudlinux being so cheap at 14$ per 1 license which includes the capability of using cGroups to manage resources, plesk should offer it out of the box and not on a paid extension because it's effectively cheaper to use cloudlinux for all the extra benefits instead of buying the hosting pack just for cGroups manager.

    Please consider adding it as a permanent feature out of the box.

  11. Restart services on failure using systemd

    We've noticed that Plesk services like plesk-php72-fpm are sometimes killed by the out of memory killer or otherwise crash and require manual intervention by us. The services could be made more resilient by adding the following file to supplement Plesk's service file and reloading systemd.

    cat /root/reload-on-fail.conf

    [Service]
    Restart=on-failure
    RestartSec=5s

    cp /root/reload-on-fail.conf /usr/lib/systemd/system/plesk-php*-fpm.service.d/reload-on-fail.conf && systemctl daemon-reload

    I've also made an ansible playbook for this:
    https://gist.github.com/nbeernink/679b8c0bc635158b0ea4dfb96e10c7c5

    Additionally, you can also add this to services like nginx, mysql/mariadb, dovecot and postfix and they will restart on failure as well.

    However instead of us all running these playbooks on old and new servers,…

  12. Make Plesk File Sharing removeable

    It's a prominent feature that is "offered" everywhere in the GUI but one can't get rid of it when it's not used and it's not uninstallable also. Please make it removable.

    It's a pity that Health Monitoring is not showing in Power View mode, only in Service Provider view. Adding a custom button won't help either in Power View.

  14. Fix the "Permission denied" problem in API RPC for customers

    When using API RPC in an extension it returns "Permission denied" response for customers on any function in version 12.0.18 update #5. There is similar problem in version 11.5.30 update #47 except that the error is thrown in try..catch statement calling "pm_ApiRpc::getService()" method.

  15. eventually fix the mailman bug which is there since plesk 8

    After every update to plesk I have to manually fix the mailman entry in /etc/postfix/master.cf
    It should read: mailman unix - n n - - pipe flags=Ru

    plesk updates change the flags=R which means that mailing lists are broken if they contain upper case characters.

    As far as I know problems in mixed cases in Plesk mail services have been fixed. Have you checked this issue in Plesk 12.5 Preview (http://download1.parallels.com/Plesk/PP12/parallels-plesk-12.1-for-linux-change-log.html) ? If it is reproduced – please write step-by-step instruction how we can check it. Thanks.

  16. Increase maximum supported IP addresses

    It looks like the change from Plesk 9.5.4 to 11.5.30 reduced the maximum allowed IP addresses down to 200 or so. When you try to re-read the IP addresses you get an error/crash. We used to be able to add as many IP's as we wanted, but I'm told its now limited to 200 or 256 (but I get a failure when I've added just 235 addresses). With the deployment of IPv6 we will need much more.

    Since yesterday only I use this 11.5.30 version, in which I noticed that SQL Server DB User Name length is restricted to 16 Characters. It can be 128 characters as in version 11.0.9.
