MYSQL Performance Tuning and Monitoring
t would be a good idea to have an SQL section where users can run optimization scripts like MYSQLTUNER etc and enter suggestioned changes in a GUI that directly change the mysql.conf directly and correctly.
An ability to monitor performance and tweak would be ideal, making the task of SQL performance monitoring and tweaking far easier.
Also optimize commands and other tasks could be run for this panel.
as well as optimize and the ability to add it to cron for weekly or monthly.
390 votesMySQL Performance tuning has been available for more than half a year in the scope of the free Plesk Performance Booster feature (https://www.plesk.com/blog/product-technology/how-to-speed-up-your-website-by-30-tips-measure-performance-effectively/). Since July 2023 no new comments were added to this feature request. As no new requests were added, this feature is now considered "completed".
Please feel free to comment on this or open a new feature request in case your expectations are not met yet.

Allow Plesk to use a clustered MySQL Server (Galera)
According to a ticket I just opened (80693) Plesk currently doesn't support a clustered MySQL server, e.g. an active/active Galera cluster.
To avoid data-loss or corruption in a server crash, I'd like to run MySQL in a Galera cluster to automatically sync the data again once Plesk's MySQL started after a crash.99 votesThis functionality is now available in the latest Plesk Obsidian 18.0.49 ("Added the ability to run Plesk with a centralized database"). The feature is currently in Beta. We encourage you to check the implementation and let us know what you think. All required information could be found in Plesk Documentation by the link https://docs.plesk.com/en-US/obsidian/deployment-guide/plesk-for-linux-plesk-installation-without-the-local-database.79703/
We would appreciate hearing your feedback on the implementation of this functionality. Thanks in advance!

Support MySQL 8
I would like to see support for the upcoming MySQL 8.
Currently there is no support inside plesk and using a possible workaround with docker isn't possible out of the box.MySQL Community Server 8.0.4 is already a Release Candidate.
80 votesPlesk now supports MySQL 8 as the local (Plesk for Linux) and the remote database server – https://docs.plesk.com/release-notes/obsidian/change-log/#plesk-18033

Provide a GUI updater for MariaDB and MySQL
Hello,
Would it be possible to update the mySQL or MariaDB to newer version in the plesk panel like it is in cPanel?
Thanks in advance.
34 votesAvailable starting Plesk 18.0.60 version.
We are glad to announce that the ability to upgrade MariaDB database servers to the latest version in the LTS branch via the Plesk interface is no longer in beta! We thank everyone who tried the beta version for their participation and feedback.
To access this feature, go to Tools & Settings > Database Servers (under “Applications & Databases”), and then click Upgrade Now next to an eligible MariaDB database server.

Currently even if MariaDB is installed on the server, in Plesk > Tools&Settings > Database servers it is written as MySQL It would be nice to show actual database type .

Implement solution instead of myLittleAdmin for Plesk for Windows
Vulnerability CVE-2020-13166 was discovered in myLittleAdmin and since the only option to completely mitigate the issue is to remove myLittleAdmin, it would be good to implement another tool to manage MS SQL databases through the web interface (instead of resorting to Microsoft SQL Management studio)
20 votesAs announced earlier, MyLittleAdmin was retired in June 2023 due to security issues that have not been fixed by their developers. Instead, please find a variety of database management solutions here: https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/13302777933719

Support SQL Server 2022
Microsoft SQL Server 2022 was released several months ago. We'd like to provide our customers services using this DB engine. Could you please add its support into Plesk?
12 votesGreat news! Microsoft SQL Server 2022 is fully supported since Plesk Obsidian 18.0.50, published January 31st, 2023. Plesk can now detect Microsoft SQL Server 2022 installed locally and allows to create and manage user databases. It is now also possible to do the following:
- Use Microsoft SQL Server 2022 as a remote database server.
- Install Microsoft SQL Server 2022 locally using Plesk Installer.
- Import and export Microsoft SQL Server 2022 databases via the Plesk interface.

Forced instance prefix for database
I'd like to have the ability to force a database-prefix of up to five characters for the plesk instance (alternative for a specific ext. databaseServer) for both databases and databaseUsers.
I use a MariaDB-cluster for my customers and there are multiple reasons I like to see such a feature:
- For security reasons: I don't like that the internal plesk-admin user has access to all databases - even if they do not belong to the instance domain's / customers. If the server would be hacked and somehow the mysql-admin-password extracted all my customers would be affected. With a prefix (e.g.…10 votesThis functionality is now available in the latest Plesk Obsidian 18.0.49 ("Added the ability to run Plesk with a centralized database"). The feature is currently in Beta. Please add support for PostgreSQL 13, 14

Increase max username length for MySQL to 32 characters
In Plesk MySQL database usernames are limited to 16 characters, however MySQL 5.7+ allows usernames for up to 32 characters. Please update the max length limit in Plesk.
If username is too long Plesk will show an abstract error like 'Database user name is invalid'. In case of too long usernames, the error could be more descriptive.

Manage manual added Databases (without Plesk)
It's not possible to manage Databases that had been added manually without Plesk 12. I can't say that i want to use a specific Database in a "profil" Domain-Database Setting.
It would be really nice to add a Option to "add existing / import" a Database the Plesk GUI would like the same but no checking of " Database with requested name already exists".
Now i can't do a fully Backup with all Databases, manuall with plesk added Databases are missing!
TIA

Implement MariaDB 10.4 support
Please implement MariaDB 10.4 support. We have upgraded to MariaDB 10.4 by mistake and now we're jumping through hoops adding new websites / DB users.
The main issue is that MariaDB have moved the 'user' table to a table called 'global_priv' and Plesk is still trying to read from the old one ( which they've converted into a View, so it errors out ).
We can't downgrade, as it's not supported, and we certainly can't roll back. So it would be extremely awesome of you if you'd help with this.
Also by reading on Reddit and Plesk Support forum, we're…

MariaDB (MySQL) version selector
I tried to install MariaDB 10.1 instead of 5.5 that Plesk installs by default and I messed it all up, had to re-install Plesk. There should be a version selector during the installation.
There should be a full MariaDB integration because it has a lot of adventages in performance comparing to Oracle's MySQL and has a greater team. MariaDB 5.5 is so yesterday.

change mysql path
Possibility to change mysql data path keeping it on the new location when plesk updates.
Today when plesk update and a new version of mysql come with it, mysql databases stop working.
