  3. Move backup compressed file from /httpdocs to backup manager pool

Occasionally we need to move whole subscription between servers. We use the target ftp account as ftp storage on source server.

So, functionality that could allow us to move this compressed .tar file from /httpdocs/mybackupfolder to backup manager pool available for restore would be great

  7. Backup orphan database (not linked to a website)

    Hi,
I use Drupal CMS to create my wbesites
I use the Drupal multisite functionality :
    - only one installation of Drupal on a main domain
    - a folder with the custom modules and templates for each additional website
    - each additional website is an alias of the main installation
    - a database for each additional website

So, with the Plesk backup functionnality, I cannot backup my databases because there are not linked to a domain

    Thanks,

It is highly recommended that the backup files can be directly accessed via ftp same as direct admin control panel.

  11. Add third party installations, paths/directories to your plesk backup

I would like to be able to add custom paths to plesk backup that i can backup different third party installations and folders. For Example i have a gitlab and mosquitto on my root server running unfortunately they are not getting backuped up by plesk. If it possible i would like to have a whole backup of all data on my server in one location. So please make it possible that we can add custom paths to plesk backup and restore them together or separately, it is not necessary to fullfill all dependencies, that would be great in addition that…

  12. Allow sharing of backup file by URL

If customer asks for downloadable copy of a backup but has no access to Plesk, it would be helpful to pass them a downloadable link

The description is refined basing on further description in the comment. Original text of request:

Allow copying a backup in File Sharing section

Useful if a customer ask for a downloadable copy of its site for personal archiving or moving to another provider. Actually we must download the backup locally and reupload, or moving the file via shell.

  13. Name of domain in backup file name.

In the previous version of the control panel, the domain name is included in the name of the file backup.
Now, when you download the file always has the same name (except timestamp), excluding the domain name. I include it manually but may be helpfull if panel do than for me.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, this request contains two different suggestions, and it’s not technically possible to properly handle them inside one request.

Please consider creating separate feature requests for each of the items below:

    1. “Interface that show progress process of compress backup before download”

We could consider the possibility of implementing this feature in future Plesk releases.

    2. “Reconfigure limit timeout that block dowkload of big files backup”

It seems like a bug, so we need to know more about the issue to try to reproduce it. What is the size of these big backups? What happens when this limit exceeded? Could you please describe your request in more detail?

Please create a new request with each item, so that others can vote for it.

    Thank you.

  15. Compress backups while doing

Actually backups are compressed at the end. My uncompressed backup is 1TB, compressed is just 200 GB, but I still need 1 TB of free space for backup to be performed.

In Plesk 12.5 backup data compression is performed during backup, not after or at the end.
Unfortunately, we cannot confirm this issue, so we are closing this request, since it does not contain any new feature suggestions. If you have additional information about this issue or want to get advice from the community, please go to our forum at http://talk.plesk.com. Thank you.

  16. This is why I see that --no-zip doesn’t work in the right way, is not useful that Plesk use a switch like --no-zip and the destination direc

    Plesk 12 on Windows

Actually, pleskbackup utility uses a flag named --no-zip where files into the destination compressed folder are not previously compressed, but Windows OS read the .zip extension of the folder like a compressed file and this increase so much the backup time (this because become a great I/O consumption).

I think this is not much useful, the correct behavior should be that when a --no-zip switch is used, the destination is not a ZIP file but a standard directory!

In case of servers where many domains with thousands of little files, use a "normal copy" instead of…

  18. Allow full backup

Currently you can only backup configurations and customer files. While I have installed a few Plesk extensions and PHP extensions it is necessary for me to backup the full server. Allow a option to backup/restore full server with all components.

  19. A License Model for HotBackup Standby

I would like to run a live Backup Server which is synchronous to the real server. If the real server goes down, i would like to change the ip and go online again. For that concept, I need now two full Plesk Licenses. Is there a way to get a cheaper license for the standby backup instance?

  20. cloud storage for photos - best option?

After years of storing photos on disks, I've started looking into subscribing to a monthly cloud storage service to back up my photos. However, I recently saw a service called CloudBacko (http://free.cloudbacko.com/?r=1d) that offers huge amounts of cloud storage at free of cost. How reasonable? Does anyone else use cloud storage and, if so, which service would you recommend and why.
