  1. DNS / redirect sanity

    Hi,

I'm quite sure licensing was counted (per domain) for domainnames that had hosting and/or redirection.

Apparently it counts subscriptions now. Many of our subscriptions are only for DNS. Not that it matters much to us directly, unlimited license anyways, but this could bite...

More importantly, I'm quite sure I used to be able to create a subscription, NOT enable webhosting (and mailhosting), point the A record to another webserver. Create an alias. Have the alias point to plesk by default (it copies the A record now, even though DNS sync is OFF ... it should use the DNS template…

  5. Select PHP-Version in new (sub)domain/Hosting not working - Site shows Error.

Select PHP-Version in new (sub)domain/Hosting not working - Site shows Error. Only '...by OS Vendor' working. Correct this or deactivate this settings and show only the PHP-Version and a tipp to change PHP-Version in PHP-Configuration.
I don't know the correct names, my Plesk use German.

  6. Support dateext setting for domain logs

    Currently domain logs look like

    541004 -rw-r--r-- 2 root root 0 Mar 2 15:01 accesslog
    562544 -rw-r--r-- 2 root root 0 Mar 2 15:01 access

    538890 -rw-r--r-- 2 root root 827 Mar 2 15:01 accesslog.processed.1.gz
    538922 -rw-r--r-- 2 root root 642 Mar 2 14:59 access
    log.processed.2.gz
    538925 -rw-r--r-- 2 root root 907 Mar 2 14:59 accesslog.processed.3.gz
    538908 -rw-r--r-- 2 root root 582 Mar 2 14:58 access
    log.processed.4.gz
    538915 -rw-r--r-- 2 root root 787 Mar 2 14:57 access_log.processed.5.gz

If user sets dateext in logrotate config they look more user firendly

  7. Don't copy default website to website doc root, use Apache's No Index location instead

Currently when a website is created Plesk copies the default website files to the document root for that website.

This has two issues in my opinion: 1 the user has to delete those files to start (not a big issue but would be nice if they didn't have to go through that step), and 2 when they delete those files they then get the default Apache2 Test Page, which at this point defeats the point of having default website files copied.

I believe a better solution would be to change the No Index Apache location to a location that Plesk…

Since PEAR is more or less obsolete and Plesk 12.5 introduces PHP Composer support, we do not believe that we should spend our time and resources on supporting PEAR. We suggest everyone to switch to PHP Composer. If you want to discuss this, please use our forums (forum.odin.com). Thanks.

  11. Allow Suspend mode in Process Model - Idle Time-out Action at IIS 8.5

IIS on Windows Server 2008 R/2012 provides the administrator with the option of timing out a worker process that is idle for a specified period of time. This is a good option for sites that are not accessed very often because it frees up system resources when the site is idle. The disadvantage is that the next time the site is accessed, the user will need to wait for the worker process to start again.

In IIS 8.5 and later, the administrator has the option of suspending an idle worker process rather than terminating it. A suspended worker process remains…

  13. Nginx : like apache config, allow different configuration for http and for https

In the manager we can put specific configuration apache directives for http and for secure http.

This could help with solving issues like multiple redirections

    http://www.domain.tld -> http://domain.tld -> https://domain.tld
where with two seprate context we could manage to one redirection in each context :

    www.domain.tld -> domain.tld

And in the same manner give ssl directives only to https hosts....

  18. Warning on PHP version switch

I would like that when a customer changes the PHP version he is using to display a warning that his website may not be functioning correctly?
It could be also good to consider in back versions like 12.0 or 11.5?

  19. Would be nice to have an option to commit changes to settings of various websites

Right now if I make changes to several websites (like changing the hosting settings, apache&nginx settings etc) the webservers get restarted every time the changes are saved. It can be annoying for the visitors of the websites (they get http errors every time the webservers are restarted). Would be nice to have all changes stored in a transaction so that admin can commit them all at once.

  20. Some Improvements and Options for the ftp server

If you give the Login data to a Customer you normaly don´t want the next Customer to get access to the data (Sensible Datas) via the same login.

So i´d say it would be practical if the password would change per login and that you´d get a notification Email that the Customer had logged in and the new automaticaly generated password for the next login with the same Username (requires a registred Email adress per Username for notification).

Also it´d be usefull if the notification Email would Include a Direct Link to the ftp adress to add and remove Data…
