Definitly need to have ngx_pagespeed! I had to switch back to pure Apache instead of my Nginx Apache combo, because I couldnt get ngx_pagespeed running.

At this time it is a very very bad idea to include mod_pagespeed. mod_pagespeed is just not grown up enough. A very good example of this is the SSL heartbleed bug. mod_pagespeed requires its own version of libssl, and this library was not updated as fast as all distributions did. So your server would have remained insecure. The heartbleed bug meant alot of people deinstalled pagespeed.
