Currently, the integration of remote SmarterMail with Plesk for Windows presents significant limitations that affect user experience and administrative efficiency. When using SmarterMail as a remote mail server, users encounter the following difficulties:
Limited Account Management:
Users created through Plesk lack the ability to manage advanced mail configurations in SmarterMail, such as spam filters, safe and blocked sender lists, and other personal administration options.
The lack of administrator permissions for these accounts prevents users from customizing their email experience and effectively managing spam.
Synchronization Issues:Mail accounts created directly in SmarterMail by users with administrator permissions do not synchronize with Plesk.
This inconsistency creates discrepancies between both platforms, hinders centralized management, and causes confusion for both administrators and end-users.
Need for Multiple Interfaces:The lack of integration forces users to switch between Plesk and SmarterMail for basic mail administration tasks.
This fragmentation of the workflow reduces efficiency and increases the learning curve for users.
Improvement Proposal:To address these issues, we propose a deeper integration of SmarterMail into Plesk, including:
Granular Permission Control:
Allow the assignment of SmarterMail administrator permissions directly from the Plesk interface during mail account creation.
Provide options to customize SmarterMail user permissions through Plesk.
Complete Bidirectional Synchronization:Implement real-time synchronization between Plesk and SmarterMail to ensure that all accounts and configurations are accurately reflected on both platforms.
User Interface Integration:Incorporate the most frequently used SmarterMail mail administration functions directly into the Plesk interface.
This would allow users to manage spam filters, sender lists, mail rules, and other advanced configurations without leaving Plesk.
Benefits:Significant improvement in user experience by providing complete control over their mail accounts.
Optimization of administrative efficiency by centralizing email management in Plesk.
Reduction of confusion and errors caused by the lack of synchronization and the need to use multiple interfaces.
By implementing these improvements, Plesk would strengthen its position as an integral hosting management platform and provide significant added value to its users.Gustavo Ramos Saavedra supported this idea ·

Show Server IP/Hostname to Facilitate Remote Database Connection MariaDB
I fully support this suggestion. Several years have passed since its publication, and the lack of this functionality continues to cause inconvenience to users and increase the workload of hosting providers. Displaying the server IP/Hostname for remote database connection is essential and should be a standard feature in Plesk.

Smartermail has better features than mail server or exim, it is important to improve the capabilities that plesk has over Smartermail
