An error occurred while saving the comment Daniel commentedPlease add this. Would have made my live with moving a domain much easier... instead of merging a plan, I could just have added a domain, made it the main website and moved the original domain to a different subscription.

Since Plesk Onyx you will be able to install memcache as a Docker container and configure http(s) proxy rule for it to map to your web app.
Docker and proxy rules are available in Plesk Onyx Preview already, you can try it here https://talk.plesk.com/threads/plesk-onyx-preview-and-feedback.337172/

IGAn error occurred while saving the comment Daniel commented@igorG Can you please provide an update? The DirectAdmin Pro pack contains this feature (See https://docs.directadmin.com/getting-started/pro-pack/overview.html#introducing-the-directadmin-pro-pack) and cPanel has a plugin for this (see https://www.unixy.net/redis/). In other words, Plesk is behind the competition.
Daniel supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Daniel commented@igorG We would like to run a separate Redis instance for every user (when selected in the feature set) with the memory limitation per user. The problem with having a Docker instance, is that the Redis instance is accessible by anyone and therefore not usable for a shared hosting environment since it is not secure.
Furthermore, we cannot set memory limits per user in Docker and Docker does not work with CloudLinux.

I have received by e-mail a request to provide more information.
"Hi Daniel, thank you for commenting. Previously we had asked users if they could please provide more detail: What is the desired usage scenario of this feature? Why do you need this feature? What is the expected benefit? But unfortunately, noone answered and as you can see, the number of votes was very low, too.
Please give us some cracking good arguments why exactly this feature is absolutely needed. After all, you can already move domains.
-- PD"
Moving domains is helpfull, however, only 25 domains are shown in the GUI and it is unclear what happens with databases not assigned to domains. This may be a bug. Besides that, merging a subscription should make sure that everything is migrated. If merging too much of a hassle, an alternative would be documentation explaining the limitations of domain moving (what gets moved when and what not).
Merging subscriptions would prevent that we need to move each domain without risking to loose data like databases or potentially other settings.
Reasons for merging:
- more cost efficient for the customer
- Customer had multiple plans but merged multiple domains in one plan
- Acquisition where the customer had multiple plans or already had plans with both companies.
