  1. Add customer number to frontend

There already is an API field for the customer number. Why can't I set this through the UI?
Would be critical for us to be able to automate billing.

  2. Can I suggest a server side loading progress bar? thanks

It would be possible to create an extension so that when the web loads a progress bar appears. But the progress bar appears before the page loads, that is, from the moment the request is made to the server. Thanks

Thank you for your update. If I understand correctly, you would like to incorporate a progress bar into a web page that will load prior to the initial server response. Unfortunately, this is out of scope for a control panel to deliver. It will be best to consider consulting with a website developer. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

  3. Feature Suggestion for Easier Website Migration Process

    Dear Plesk Support Team,

I appreciate your response to my recent query. I understand that server-specific issues need to be handled by the hosting provider, but I’d like to take this opportunity to suggest a feature enhancement for Plesk.

During my recent experience, I faced challenges while trying to migrate an old .aspx website from the main domain to a subdomain and shift a WordPress website from a subdomain to the main domain. This process was more complex than expected, and it would be helpful if Plesk could offer a more user-friendly or automated tool for such domain and subdomain…

  4. Add variables to 'Auto-reply message text'

Add variables to 'Auto-reply message text' same as <request_from>, for example for 'Auto-reply message subject'. Exampe of such variable:
<request_text> copying the body message to the autoreply message.

  5. Show DNS zone settings to the customer without giving the ability to change it.

Currently, disabling DNS settings permission hides DNS menu. It would be better instead for the customer to be able to check their current settings without being able to change them.

  10. Bulk remove databases from subscriptions that no longer exists in the database server

As seen on https://stackoverflow.com/questions/77681371/are-there-any-methods-to-initiate-a-database-synchronization-process-in-plesk it should be possible to auto-remove databases from the Plesk configuration (psa table) that no longer exist in the database server.

Example: A user has removed databases with "drop database" in the database server shell directly. Such databases are still references in the psa database and are displayed as available databases to GUI users. Such orphants should be removed either automatically (e.g. by nighty maintenance) or by a user command.

  11. security headers

I have to say I was delighted to see that Plesk.com (unlike so many sites) has all its security headers* in order, but it would be really good if this was a thing that could be operated easily from within Plesk given the massive importance of them. It would also tidy up A LOT of the stuff to do with many of the things that people are asking on here with things like X- headers, Pragma and Caching, etc.

There are a few plugins that are usable for this for Wordpress (probaly other things, but not the admin panel or…

We understand that you are asking to add specific headers and maybe to remove others, but the broad range of what could be expected does not allow this to be done in a single feature request. It is also not possible to standardize such settings as the vast number of users all require different settings. All headers can already be individually set, it just needs an individual analysis what makes sense and what does not, tailored to each website.

  12. Support for Load-Balancers (Hosting Company Structure)

Add the possibility for Load Balancers to detect on what Server a domain is hosted.

This would make it possible to use Load Balancers without heavy API Integrations and headaches.

  14. Harden Your PHP for Better Security

We should all consider PHP security, giving us the option to Harden our PHP through the GUI or add an optimizer that does it automatically by scanning the websites.

  15. Allow customers access to multiple subscriptions

In some situations where several customers with different subscriptions will collaborate with each other, there's no way to give access to their existing accounts to all the appropriate subscriptions.

Right now it's necessary to create new accounts for this setup, and it'd be a lot easier if one could just use the existing ones to avoid messy duplicated and allow management through AD.

According to market data, 97% of users who are seeking a headless CMS are not choosing STRAPI. Also, that type of software is not a software to maintain web, mail or database servers, so it is naturally not a component to integrate with Plesk. For these reasons there are no plans to integrate this one specific headless CMS into Plesk.

Instead, it is one out of thousands of application programs that can be used on a Plesk maintained server. You can already use it today on a Plesk server.

If you would like to see some sort of integration of STRAPI with Plesk, e.g. an easy installation routine made for websites hosted on Plesk, maybe you can suggest to their developers to create a Plesk extension for their software, using the free Plesk API for that: https://docs.plesk.com/en-US/obsidian/extensions-guide/plesk-extensions-in-a-nutshell.76331/

  18. Switch Fail2Ban to global Apache log if "Piped logs" option is enabled.

As for now, Fail2Ban parses error logs on a domain level. If there are more than 500 domains on the server and the "Piped logs" option is enabled in Apache configuration, it would be more efficient for Fail2Ban to automatically switch to a global Apache log.

The request is based on the false assumption that it would be more efficient to parse only the central access_log if many domains are hosted on a server. In reality in such a scenario that log will grow huge very fast. This will increase parsing time of Fail2Ban considerably and can lead to stalling the service. Instead, for Fail2Ban it is much better to split jails, and on servers with many domains even split Apache jails into parts by domain start letter A ... Z so that the individual Fail2Ban process can finish swiftly and free resources again for other tasks.

For that reason we decline the request.

  20. Separate folder for backups

Make it possible, to specify a separate path on reseller/customer basis, reasoning being that if there are physical hard drives dedicated to the customer they can not include the backups on it.

No details were provided why the existing separation of user backups in folders is insufficient. Also Plesk does not support separate drives for different subscriptions. Such a scenario could be achieved by putting accounts on different servers, too. No further information was provided on this topic. Regarding the low number of votes on this feature we must decline it.
