  1. support DNAME records (Non-Terminal DNS Name Redirection) - see description

For information: A DNAME-record is used to map / rename an entire sub-tree of the DNS name space to another domain. It differs from the CNAME-record which maps only a single node of the name space.

I would personally appreciate if the full range of records that are available are supported, but with people (especially clients) having multiple things bundled onto single domains into subdomains and correspondent subdirectories, it makes sense more than ever to accommodate these records as many other providers do.

  2. Add the ability to apply DNS Template to existing domains on Windows

This feature exists on Linux. So it will be great to have the same on Windows as well. It will make it easier to manage DNS on servers with many domains.

  3. Raw SOA Editor

I want to change the DNS-Editor to the Raw View like a Source Editor for HTML.

Its way better to import dns from other providers to plesk with the raw soa file format if there are too much records to single add them via gui.

Maybe a Button "Extended View" with default SOA Design

    $TTL 7200
    @ IN SOA ns1.your-server.de. postmaster.your-server.de. (
    2019101403 ; serial
    86400 ; refresh
    10800 ; retry
    3600000 ; expire
    86400 ) ; minimum

    @ IN NS ns3.second-ns.de.
    @ IN NS ns.second-ns.com.
    @ IN NS ns1.your-server.de.

    @ IN A 1.1.1.1

  4. Allow CNAME to point to another CNAME

Allow CNAME records to point to another CNAME record. Currently it is not possible to do so in Plesk and shows the error:

Error: Incorrect combination of DNS records is present in the DNS zone.

  5. Lock DNS records | Disable Reset to default

We have the "dmarc"- record in our template having a placeholder for the value. At the time the Record "dmarc" was edited by adding the value, mostly every DNS record is no more in the state of the DNS template.

Therefore it is important to have some policies:
    - The button "Reset to default" can be disabled on Admin and Reseller level.
    - The button "Master/*****" can be disabled. Usually this functionality is not needed.
    - For certain very important DNS setting, a "Lock" button might make sense. If applied, this record can not be edited anymore by…

  7. restrict to edit SOA records for subscription, but allow to manage DNS records

It requires either limit user's ability to change the DNS zone timers (TTL, refresh, expiry...) or to limit them to a preset minimum, while still being able to edit the domain's records.

  8. A differential report to compare the DNS template to all or multiple domains on a server

A differential report to compare the DNS template to all or multiple domains on a server to see only items that are "differences" or exceptions to the template, not every DNS entry for a domain.

Thank you for your interesting idea! While this is a request for a rarely used DNS record, it still makes sense to enable this record type at least for users who want to link their website to a specific geolocation. We will consider this functionality in upcoming releases if it will be popular.

Everyone, please continue voting for this feature if you consider it important.

  11. Reset DNS record to default value from DNS template

The ability to reset a specific record to the default value from the DNS template. We are currently only able to reset the whole domain.

I'm also missing a column in the dns records overview, displaying which records are default and which are customized. We have to guess at this point which ones are altered.

  12. Support for Load-Balancers (Hosting Company Structure)

Add the possibility for Load Balancers to detect on what Server a domain is hosted.

This would make it possible to use Load Balancers without heavy API Integrations and headaches.

This feature request aims at a skill that a load balance shall have, not what a server connected to a load balancer shall have. Could you please provide more details what exactly you expect a server to provide so that a load balancer can find out that the server is authoritative for a domain? At first sight this would be the IP address that is registered for the domain in DNS. But what method would you want to suggest instead?

  14. In the "Domain DNS settings" section, you need to add the ability to temporarily disable records.

Good afternoon. In the "Domain DNS settings" section, you need to add the ability to temporarily disable records.
There is a general list of all records, there is also a checkbox with which you can select the desired lines. By selecting rows through the checkbox, we can only delete in bulk.
Please add the ability to temporarily disable the necessary records during the mass selection of rows through the checkbox. Well, maybe they would just be highlighted somehow or vice versa would be gray, which would mean that they are disabled. Also, if you select these disabled, you could re-enable…

  15. DNS Acl removal via CLI

Meanwhile it's possible to add DNS ACL via CLI:
    plesk bin server_dns -u -add-acl 192.0.2.78,192.0.2.0/24

There are no native tools in CLI for removing it.

Adding such feature would be great.

  17. Automatic renewal of wildcard certificates when using Route 53

When renewing a (Let's Encrypt) wildcard-certificate, we first need to go the page for SSL of the specific domain, copy the new code, go to the DNS-page, update the records, go back to the certificate page and click renew. This seems like a lot of manual steps for something that can easily be automated.

I understand this has already been implemented for people who do not use the Route 53 plugin (or other DNS plugins), but since any change in Plesk DNS will automatically propagate to Route 53 with those plugins, I guess this can be fairly easily implemented, saving…

  18. cli command to delete/modify record from dns template

There is no way to delete/modify record in dns template with cli: plesk bin server_dns. For image automation scripts, it requires to have delete and modify command to manage dns records in template.

  19. Introduce DNS records multi-column sort.

When required to add a few NS records, it's easy to make typos as DNS records can be sorted by a record type but not sorted by value.

    The following sorting is proposed:
    1. User Sorts by Value, then the order is: Value (ASC or DESC), Type (ASC), Host (ASC)
    2. User Sorts by Type, then the order is: Type (ASC or DESC), Host (ASC), Value (ASC)
    3. User Sorts by Host, then the order is: Host (ASC or DESC), Type (ASC), Value (ASC)
