Mail-Only Plesk server
Like DNS only c* servers, Plesk can provide a Mail-Only - Plesk Server. This will help all those who like to distribute server services' load across multiple servers. I'm aware that one can simply install the whole plesk in a separate server and run just mail service alone.
This feature request has had a lot of attention from us for a long while. It's been going on and off with good reasons for declining and some reasons to keep it open. However, we see a very limited number of votes through all the years that this topic has been on, even though we had merged similar requests into it to accumulate more votes.
There are still no plans to have a "mail-only" license type, and the functionality can very easily be achieved already by simply spinning up a separate Plesk and only using mail on it, but no websites.
Summing all the pros and cons up and seeing the low number of interest in this feature through the years, at this time it appears best and most transparent to users to decline the request as "already available" - because as a matter of fact: Users can indeed only use mail functions on a Plesk server. Noone is obliged to also host websites on it.
We still remain open for new ideas and surely we will continue to monitor how the demand changes. At this time however we just don't see a strong user interest in this feature.

This is absolutely essential. Configuring domains solely for email services on Plesk can be quite cumbersome. To maintain SSL certificates, you have to create subdomains like "mail.domain.com", and the renewal process sometimes fails, which complicates things further.

Because the present PLESK is not email-focused, I assume you will not have many people who are interested in email. They may have already migrated to Zoho, Rackspace, or other alternatives. Plesk comes preloaded with all of the features and capabilities needed for email hosting, as well as some sophisticated tools. So, if you can give a bulletproof email hosting panel, it will be fantastic for marketing your services to wider audience as well as agency users like myself who want to host several email accounts without the hassle and noise of other unnecessary features.

I only use Plesk for mail hosting and there is too much junk I do not need. I would love to see an email-focused Plesk version that provides all the necessary tools to have the best email hosting panel and appropriate licence. No WordPress or other server tools. Just focus on email security delivery and management with a special licence.

That should be a really great idea for security and performance ! + 1

Any update? Division/separation is important because it is not good, e.g. IP addresses are blocked, the whole server is no longer callable.

I describe some difficulties when centralized solution, are importante points for better control:
- Possible to customize the e-mail storage path, like example storage is an iSCSI-based storage where point of mount is /data or any name;
- In this form of mount is possible add 02 server for dovecot (imap, pop) in high availability with MariaDB in Cluster as example something http://oxpedia.org/wiki/index.php?title=OX_HE_Tutorial_100K;
- Other solution sample, add relay servers for postfix. -
Hi Shyam,
We do consider splitting services and enabling high availability eventually. But discounted mail-only Plesk server doesn't seem fitting our plans.
However we remain open to the proposal - I will reformat the initial request so that others can support if they have similar need

Thank you for the reply, however I feel like I didn't pass the request properly. AFAIK, Plesk automation is for infrastructure level management of multiple server and the scope of Plesk automation is different. You do provide HA for storage, but that wouldn't be sufficient for high availability (in an HA scenario, how one should configure the second server with Plesk ?). The request is not focused on pushing HA to Plesk mainstream, but for a simple Plesk server with only mail management function.
Please disregard if you don't understand anything from the above statement.

To create a mail only Plesk server
Mail only subscriptions (No web hosting) with multiple domains currently only have the 'Add New Domain Alias' option, so all created mailboxes are done so under the main domain. It is not possible to create individual mailboxes for the additional domains.
