After 3 years voting for this feature, and now you say: we will not support ASP.NET Core on Linux for political reasons.
This is not fair at all ...

Maybe ASP .NET Core Support is not added to linux hosts for political reasons? Windows hosting is normally much more expensive than linux one.

hahahaha.
https://www.zdnet.com/article/linux-now-dominates-azure/
Over half of Azure VMs are Linux. I can imagine a load of people running Azure will be running asp.net core on them. If it wasn't popular, Microsoft woulnd't have ported everything to Linux - including SQL Server.
when I come to redeploy my server, plesk will be taken off it. I can do without it if its going to be more pain than its worth. Webmin works just as well.

If anyone is wondering, I asked this on their Facebook group, which has a lot of the employees on. I never got a definitive answer, just that dotnet on linux is not popular. So don't hold your breath for support, maybe take your business to cPanel instead if you can

Plesk, please consider:
1. supporting nginx to proxy to a user-defined port/host/socket. This is the first step (and the biggest) as it means I will no longer have to keep my manually-edited nginx ip_defaults.conf file working properly.
Once that's done, the system will work - we can install asp.net core ourselves, but plesk will no longer trash the required configuration.
2. being able to configure a unix socket or http (port 5000) to connect nginx to an asp.net core app that's installed (which is really just copying a bunch of files and running the .exe under systemctl)
3. being able to install asp.net core runtimes (ie rpm or apt-get)
4. installing sqlserver and managing that on Linux too.
So there's 4 steps that are required for the full experience, but each one in turn adds enough by itself to make plesk running asp.net core as easy as running nginx proxied to a docker container. It was pretty simple and I'm happy to provide more details if they need it.
