Upgrade Ubuntu 16.04 to 18.04 and / or 20.04
I want to upgrade Plesk 18 from Ubuntu 16.04 to Ubuntu 18.04 or 20.04.
As described here: https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002913773-Ubuntu-18-04-support-in-Plesk
I’m glad to inform you that today we finally published dist-upgrade instructions for Plesk Obsidian.
Using this instruction server administrator can perform Operation System upgrade together with Plesk Obsidian.
Supported dist-upgrade paths:
Debian 9 to Debian 10
Ubuntu 16 to Ubuntu 18
Ubuntu 18 to Ubuntu 20
Note: Debian 8 → Debian 9 dist-upgrade path is not in the supported list.

Guys, please! Give us an ETA! Can't you see you are ruining your reputation really badly? We are the guys who recommend Plesk to other people. ATM I wouldn't recommend it anymore to anybody!

We need this! Now! personally for me upgrade from sixteen to twenty is more important but we also need sixteen to eighteen and sixteen to twenty. It should be basic functionality to be able to upgrade the underlying linux system to all new versions.

I was shocked to learn that there is at the moment no way to upgrade Linux. Please implement that as soon as possible.

Please add this functionality asap.

From my point of view, a hosting management software that cannot be updated is useless. I would recommend everyone to change the manufacturer!

This is a basic functionality which needs to be available for the users

Please don't leave me stuck at 16.04. We should be talking about 20.04 by now.

Guys, even if only a handful of people voted for this: you need to do it! It should have been there from the very start. No way to upgrade? Come on...

that's a bad joke, isn't it?

An upgrade from Ubuntu 16.04 to 18.04 was promised 2 year ago. It's a shame that Plesk is not fulfilling its promises to its paying clients and that you need to set up a voting for that.

I really do not understand all of this.
We have been waiting for this implementation for years now. And we are not talking about a minor implementation, but something very important. Like the most important feature a service like Plesk should have - must have!!!
If this will not be introduced soon, all users will be stuck with an outdated system and NO WAY to upgrade, because the way Plesk is offering to upgrade Linux is not working. (I also tested it myself and it failed terribly. I was so glad I had a backup that could restore my former configuration.)So, my question to you is: how would you personally feel, if you had trusted Plesk to run your web server, invested a lot of effort to customize the server and later found out, that you have only the choice of being stuck with an outdated system forever or having to build the server again from scratch? In fact having to build the server from scratch every 4 years??? AND - the only answer from Plesk would always be: "We conveyed your requests to Plesk developers, however there are no ETA currently for implementation."
Dirk.

The migration scenario isn't desired by some of Plesk users because it's required to prepare a second server (at lest temporary).
Dist-upgrade could help such users.SImilar request but for Ubuntu 16.04: https://plesk.uservoice.com/forums/184549-feature-suggestions/suggestions/40634692-upgrade-ubuntu-16-04-to-18-04-and-or-20-04
Plesk users have shared their opinion about the necessity of such functionality here: https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002913773
