  1. Add server IP to fail2back Trusted IP by default

We recently had an odd situation where some times we would get 502 Bad Gateway errors on nginx. Plesk support diagnosed the issue and discovered that fail2ban was adding the server's IP address to the ban list and blocking itself for 10 mins at a time. It would be good measure to automatically add all of the servers' IP addresses to the Trusted IP section of the fail2ban in Plesk by default. It currently only adds 127.0.0.1 in the Trusted IP by default in Plesk.

  2. Don't show version on the login mask.

I recommend to don't show any information about the version of Plesk or other software before the user logged in.

This feature request has only received very few votes over the course of 7 years. Also, there is no urgent technical requirement for it as the previous statement by Plesk mentioned:

    -----

You wouldn't need to worry too much on version exposure: 1) should there be any vulnerability discovered, we will fix it for each  and every supported version. Just stay up2date 2) hiding version gives only false sense of security - attacker can  still apply all known vulnerabilities disregarding your actual version. There were just few vulnerabilities about Plesk and it is easy to run them all (though it won't give an impact as all of them are addressed already). It is even easier than capturing a version from a file.  If you remain heavily concerned, we can recommend applying Two-Factor authentication via Clef or Google Auth extensions at http://ext.plesk.com or maybe restricting Plesk control panel access to certain…

  3. Disk health monitoring should check inodes also

I recently had a Virtuozzo container crash completely because I wasn't notified of the Inodes was exchausted, trouble is that on platforms like these there are tighter restrictions on the number of files you are allowed to create.

It should show up on the same level as the regular disk usage monitoring.

  4. Backup: limit backup operation by time period

Server-wide setup to avoid users/customers to do backups on some time intervals. avoiding cpu usage on backups on premium time, leaving more resources for webserver related processes.

  6. set default service plan when creating a new subscription

Allow me to set the default "Service plan" when creating a new Subscription.

It currently defaults to "Default Domain" and I would prefer it be "Unlimited"

Often customer forget to select unlimited and when creating new Subscriptions.

  8. Restoring the default values for DNS + DomainKey

When you make a restore of the default values for the DNS for a domain, it is verry annoying that some special DNS records are erased in the same time. Exemple the code for DOmainKey that need to go back in the mail setting, disable and re-enable this fonction at each time.

  9. Set higher timeout for the Web Admin in Plesk Panel for Windows

The webadmin is an aspx application and it's default timeout is often 2-3 minutes, because session state for that app is InProc (default) and so this is subject to the app recycling pool of IIS (often less than 5 minutes). The problem is especially relevant on servers with a low load (when no users are clicking anything for some time, processes are killed and so the session state, causing a frequent session expiration).

It should be enough to set Web.config file for the webadmin aspx application to store session state in a SQL server custom db

  12. Show in dashboard list of domains which subscription expires into the next days

We often forget the domains which expires subscription into the next days. Plesk send emails many days before, but will be good into the homepage, to be able the admin to see the subscriptions all together which ends into the next days. Admin will be able from Plesk settings to set the number of days he want.

  14. Display on the domain list when a domain does not resolve to the server

Sometimes clients change their DNS to point to new hosting providers without informing us and sometimes the accounts department don't let us know when a service has been cancelled. Showing in the panel when a domain does not resolve to the ip it was set up on would be helpful in these circumstances.

  16. Allowing customers to whitelist IP address's from their control panel.

Giving the customer the option to whitelist any IP address from their control panel.

At the moment, if a customer wants to whitelist an IP address they cannot without server admin whitelisting the IP across the server.

cPanel have this option with Mod Security Manager.

Allowing endusers to allowlist themselves can result in significant  security risks. For example malicious users could use this tactic to  drive brute-force attacks against the server or other users on the same  server which cannot be noticed when that malicious user has whitelisted  his own IP.

No arguments have been given why it is not risk to allow endusers to allowlist themselves. We must decline this request.

  17. Add the possibility to protect Plesk panel with Web Application Firewall (ModSecurity)

Plesk should provide a way to secure the Plesk administration panel with the Web Application Firewall (ModSecurity).

Currently, when Plesk is accessed via 8443, Apache is not handling any request. However, when Plesk is accessed via port 443, Nginx is working as a proxy.

This setup should be changed, Apache should work as a proxy to be able to filter the HTTP request with ModSecurity, adding an additional security layer.

We do not see how this feature could improve Plesk security. All Plesk panel functions are behind a login, and the login can effectively be protected with the existing Fail2Ban jail. Also, this request only received very few votes through many years. We must decline it.

This request has been reviewed. It only got very few votes during the past 4 years, so it does not seem to be popular. Also, suspending a subscription while still letting the subscription owner use the subscription does not seem to match with the term "suspended". If you do not want to block users from logging in, changing files and configurations in their subscriptions, please do not suspend the subscription on overuse. What you'd actually want to request as a feature is something like "On overuse, block everything that could add more data to an account, but allow subscription owners to remove data from it". But that would be a different story and needs to be formulated accordingly.

The suspension function as it is now is doing what is expected from it: Suspend a subscription.
