  5. Restore Backup to alternative domain

    When restoring a Backup of the domain it would be beneficial if you could restore it to a different domain.
    There sometimes is the case that data has to be extracted from an old backup, but the current domain state can't be overwritten.

  7. Backup via SSHFS

    We have huge amounts of Backup Data (currently around 450gb per file). The whole process using FTP takes around ~ 13 hours to complete. Trying to restore something is a big bottleneck for us. Restoring from FTP is ****, and we searched for alternatives.

    We decided to give SSHFS a try by mounting /var/lib/psa/dumps to the remote Server and disconfigured the FTP Settings. The result is annoying. The Backup now takes around 2,5 hours, the Plesk Backend is really fast now and local space is not consumed anymore!

  8. Exclude mailboxes for a specific domain from a backup

    Hello,

    While creating backup via Plesk control panel it would be great to have ability exclude email accounts of particular domain name, not all email accounts at once.
    This is due to the fact that when the mail accounts are very large, it significantly increases the time to create a backup, and causes it's freezing as a result.

  9. Backup Option in Service Plans

    A simple checkbox in a service plan to mark, if this service plan includes the scheduled backup. The scheduled backup should backup a domain if and only if the domain has a serviceplan with this flag checked.

  12. Have a status/progress bar when uploading restore files to a new installation (Migrator progess bar)

    At the moment I have no idea how far along my upload is, or if the Plesk Control Panel has times out or just stuck.

    It would be really helpful to have a progress bar or remaining data outstanding to upload on the screen

  13. Purge before restore (delete existing content before restoring from backup)

    If I want to restore all files of a domain because the website has been hacked.... default restoration will simply overwrite existing file.

    In the cased of a hacked website, hackers can add suspicious files on the domains and those files won't be remove upon restoration.

    It will be great to have an option allowing us to opt for a purge before restoration so that we can completely replace the files, databases, etc. and not simply overwrite existing files.

  14. Backup Extension for Google Cloud / Amazon Glacier

    Plesk does currently only support Amazon S3. Amazon Glacier is cheaper than S3 and also good for backups. Also support for Google Cloud would be great since at the moment, Plesk does only support Google Drive which is no professional backup (example: https://github.com/plesk/ext-cloud-backup-example).

  15. Add the possibility to back up/include selected files and folders in the Backups

    Currently, it's possible to exclude some files/folders from backup creation: https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000773605

    But this feature should be improved because in some cases excluding is not a valid solution.

    Let's say that there are multiple files and folders, as you can imagine, the list of exclusion would be too long and it would require a lot of time to create it. Moreover, the list will need to be updated each time there are new folders on the webspace.

    Due to these reasons, an improvement should be provided to this feature, the customer should be able to create a backup including only the…

  17. Off site backup on the fly. Currently offsite backup needs half the disc to be empty to work

    Currently the Plesk backup routine to FTP off-site or Dropbox is clumsy in the it makes a tar file (not compressed as far as I can see) on the server BEFORE sending it to the remote storage server. So to back up 20gb you need at another 20gb free on the original server to be backed up. The programme should be able to tar compress send with a small cache on the fly. I cannot use the PLESK back-up as I am 60% full on the VPS

  19. FTP storage setting for backups for multiple subscriptions.

    When added the FTP server storage parameter in the settings of the Plesk panel (tools&settings - Backup Manager - FTP Storage Settings) for the backup.
    Automatically distribute this FTP repository to all subscriptions as a place for backup by default.

  20. Large database need --single-transaction --quick options to DB backup mysql

    We have a large database with InnoDB. Wen the backup runs it brings my site down for 9 min. need option to not bring our DB down.

    I have merged the request by creoline into this existing one. Actually, adding a parameter like --single-transaction requires careful consideration of many side effects that this can have. It is explained well in https://stackoverflow.com/questions/41683158/mysqldump-single-transaction-option and comments. But like IG I also think it is a valid request.


    We will consider this functionality in upcoming releases if it will be popular.
