  1. Separate rotation for backups hosted in clouds

When on Plesk server there is not much space, and on clouds (like Amazon S3), there is a lot - the separate rotation for backups would be useful: to set on Plesk to rotate frequently, and in the cloud - far more rarely.

  2. include panel.ini in server backups

The idea behind this feature is to have the panel.ini configuration file included in server backups, allowing it to be restored if it's accidentally modified or an issue occurs. Saving time and if the changes are not remembered fully.

  3. Adhoc Backup Location

When using the Plesk mobile application please provide an ability to put an adhoc backup to a defined location, rather than allowing the backup to reside in the default location of the active databases.

  4. MIgration of Backups to Cheaper Alternatives

While you provide the ability to backup to different locations, whether on local disk, FTP, SMB share, or cloud you do not provide an ability to migrate backups through the tiers. First off local disk is the most expensive and you should only keep a small subset of backups. After that there should be an ability to migrate those backups to cheaper alternatives, like S3 storage, while continuing to preserve the metadata.

  5. Plesk Backup & Restore IV - protocol functionality

    Plesk Backup & Restore IV

I personally think it's better to save all backup logs in a MariaDB / mySQL database table so that I can search for problems there later. So searchable logs with timestamps and users per domain / all domains, sometimes also by topic such as "email" / "database" / "files" / "configuration"

  6. Plesk Backup & Restore III - Wrong Option

The output during import in any combination whether "database only", "files only", "configuration only" is really insufficient, no information is passed on, e.g. the individual steps mentioned above, when importing a "domain" the domains all run as above, but for which task and how far the individual task is completely missing. Perhaps the old progress bar should be kept and another one should be shown where the individual steps are carried out, the more details the better.

At the end after the import, unfortunately you can only see the "date and time" and not what was imported at all. I'm…

  7. Please Provide Better Notification Capabilities

Plesk needs a full featured notification solution, so users can customize what notifications they want to see, from whatever service is running on Plesk. For example the Plesk backups only allow for notification if the backup fails. Why not have a notification for either situation, success or failure. This is what I am referring to when I say the notifications need to be more robust.

  9. Add Storage Location to DB Copy Functionality

Currently the db copy functionality only allows for a default location that is where the db server is located. I would ask that you provide the ability to add a second predetermined location that is just a storage location and not associated with the db server. This allows us to keep the db server storage clean.

  11. Add ability to Backup from the Subscriptions view

Add ability to Backup select subscriptions in subscriptions view. Basically instead of doing a full server Backup, I'd like to select a number of subscriptions via the checkbox and then click Backup to create a Backup of only those Subscriptions. This will allow me to archive a number of subscriptions so I can delete them.

  12. Define maximum number of saved backups in Service Plan

As an administrator you currently can define the maximum number of full backups to store. This maximum number applies to all backups, stored locally or remote.

This is a feature request for:a) defining a separate maximum for locally stored backups and a separate maximum for remotely stored backups. b) as well defining those maximum numbers in service plans.

The option to define the maximum number of stored backups in a service plan would allow administrators to fulfill backup needs on a per customer basis. And even sell additional backups to customers who might have a need for much longer backup retention.

Defining a separate maximum value for local and…

    Hi Pugmarks Techs,

thank you for your feature suggestion. I assume you are using the Slack extension of Plesk and your suggestion is that Plesk shall add backup manager events  such as "backup completed without errors", "backup completed with some errors" and similar to the event handler list so that the Slack extension can react to them.

We will consider this functionality in upcoming releases if it will be popular.

Everyone, please continue voting for this feature if you consider it important.

  15. Log the action of the backup download by the administrator.

There should be a log event for the backup download by the administrator user.

  16. Multiple scheduled Backups

It would be useful to have the ability to make scheduled backups in more than just one FTP server, so that you have multiple backups.

For example, with the Strasbourg fire, I lost two VPSs and the server where I had backups of them.

By having a backup on an additional server, I would have limited the damage.

  17. Add a detailed status message for restoring specific domains via Backup Manager

Restoring a backup in Tools & Settings > Backup Manager always results in a generic message:

Restoration of the backup <timestamp> completed

But this message remains the same both after restoring a full server backup or just some specific domains, which can be confusing.

If only specific domains have been restored, please add a separate message listing these domains.

  18. Limit rate of backup

Full weekly backup for all domains create a huge I/O throughput on our SAN that stress too much our infrastructure until backup ends. It would great if we can tune data through a pipe like "pv" command do.

    I.e.
This is an example of backup that stress the SAN:
    mysqldump -A -q --single-transaction=TRUE -u $MUSER -p$MPASS | gzip > $_file

This instead is and example that do not stress the SAN:
    mysqldump -A -q --single-transaction=TRUE -u $MUSER -p$MPASS | gzip | pv -L 512k > $_file

in the last command we set the maximum rate limit of 512k. Of course…

  19. Update the subscription's backup options by the means of CLI

It would be nice to have an option which allows to update the subscription's backup settings(exclude files/logs) via CLI.

  20. Add ability to restore website content and website database at once

Please add the possibility to restore only Website Files and website database at once in Plesk > Tools & Settings > Backup Manager > backupname > Type of object to restore

For example the name of this option can be as "Site Files and related databases"
