  1. Optimize Google Auth: Remember successful authentication for n days

    Hello,

I think it can be good to ask "Remember 30 day" after the Google Authenticator login. And ask again if the IP or Broswer is not authenticated.

Write to code each time is very long.

  2. FTP Backup directly to storage

Actual backups are safed local and then thei are commited to the FTP Backup Storage.
This means every Backup uses the Space also local (temporary). This can be a Problem with limited VMs etc.

It would be good if backups can be done directly to FTP Storage (optional setting).

In common it is not possible due to several of technical restrictions, especially on Windows. But in version Plesk 17.0 Onyx we will use new backup process schema. Content will be backuped one-by-one by services of domain hosting. For instance, first part of backup – web content – will be compressed locally and sent to ftp server. After that this dump will be removed and mail content will be compressed to local dump and sent to ftp, then mail dump deleted and databases dump created, sent, deleted, etc. This schema will dramatically decrease disk space usage during backup procedure.

  3. Be able to disable mail forward for customers (to avoid being blacklisted as spam are fowarded)

Regularly I have report of being spamming on a server and often due to users forwarding mails to another server. Being blocked by google due to that while actually you are not spamming with the server is not fun to handle.

So, I would love to be able to block a mail forward or limit it to local domains at max.

  4. Per domain catch-all in multi-domain subscription

Currently catchall e-mail addresses are subscription based, meaning you can only set 1 catchall for all domains in a subscription. This is just... Well.. Bad :-)

I'd like to request that catchall e-mail addresses can be configured on a per domain basis in a subscripton with multiple domains.

As far as I can tell catchall email addresses is the only email related option that is not configurable per-domain but only in a per-subscription basic. Thus the catchall is a bit weird compared to all the other email options.

  5. support BIMI TXT Resource Records by direct connect Mark Validation Authority

With the growing importance of brand protection, and the relative ease of implementation, it is surprising that there is no convenient connection (which I imagine would be profitable for Plesk) with a Mark Validation Authority, for authentication of the Brand Identifiers for Message Identification Resource Record in a way that is as easy to access/sign up to/create the record with (including the tinySVG format/conversion) required for anything other than a self-sign.

This has implications for simple convenience of customers, potential income of Plesk, security for customers and awareness of brands of users. https://bimigroup.org/ - it is no wonder most current…

  6. include language selection

Is there anyway possible to have a language selection (e.g. dropdown) for presence builder? Or is it already planed?

I don't mean the language selection when you create a website but more the option where a visitor can change the websites language on his own. It would be enough to have language files included with predefined settings where the creator can adjust the texts.

I think this would be a very nifty implementation as for business websites its nearly mandatory to select the language.

We assume that this request is based on a typical configuration where "permitrootlogin" in the SSH configuration file is set to "false" and the requirement is to being able to use the SSH extension for Plesk admin accounts anyway. For that case the workround can be applied: Simply add the lines

    Match Address 127.0.0.1
    PermitRootLogin yes

to the /etc/ssh/sshd_config, then reload SSH service once (# service sshd reload). It will then still not be possible to login with "root" from external sources, but it will allow the extension to log you in with an admin account.  https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4410634559250

  8. SSL Cert for a Domain with 301/302 redirect

Currently, we can't create a SSL certificate with SSLIt/Let's Encrypt for a domain, when this same domain redirects to another.

For example, if I redirect domainA.com to domainB.com, and I want to create a certificate for domainA.com, I get the following error :
Invalid response from https:/domainB.com/.well-known/acme-challenge/8dDWrjssqI1cLpY4CqkJaWNnpjoc5Pv9aBa4Sigiqqs : "404 Not Found
The requested URL was not found on this server."

The problem is that the check is made on the target domain, and not the domain in Plesk, because even the .well-known/acme-challenge gets forwarded.

For now, we are using this workaround (please see attached file)

    But we think that Plesk…

Since Plesk 18.0.26, published April 14th, 2020, a link to WPB can be activated on the Dynamic List by adding a configuration section to panel.ini:

    [dynamicList]

When spam is sent through a mailbox, that mailbox is shown on the "outgoing mail" configuration page with its limit and the number of mails that exceeded the limit. When spam is not sent through a specific mailbox (without SMTP login for example through a script, the webserver) than there is no specific mailbox that can be identified.

This feature is already available in a different form. It is correct and expected behavior that the global mail server certificate is made out to the host name. However, you can also enable SNI on each domain. When you create or reissue an SSL certificate for the domain you can check the "Assign the certificate to the mail domain" checkbox. In the "Mail Settings" of that domain you can then select it from the "SSL/TLS certificate for mail" drop down box.

  12. Run Composer with a specific PHP Version

It would be great if the already existing "Applications" view would recognize the PHP version that is used within that application path. That way Composer could check the correct PHP version for dependencies and simplify the general use of Composer.

Since Plesk Obsidian 18.0.44, published May 24th, 2022, Composer uses the PHP version that is configured for the domain instead of system PHP. Customers can now run artisan, composer, and other commands without having to specify the whole path.

To propagate and turn on the feature for all subscriptions, run the plesk bin php_settings --update-all command.

To use the feature in Scheduled Tasks, prepend the cron command with the following:

    export PATH="/opt/plesk/phpenv/bin:$PATH"; eval "$(phpenv init -)";

To disable the feature and bring back how the console worked before, add the following lines to the panel.ini file:

    [php]
    phpenv = off

Note: The feature works for Plesk PHP handlers only. It does not work for custom PHP handlers and CloudLinux with CageFS.

  15. Separate PHP-FPM process per subscription for security and performance reasons

Sharing a PHP-FPM process with separate pools per websites is a security issue and a problem for performance when some clients may deploy bad scripts to the server.

A huge reason for why sharing the same PHP-FPM process between subscriptions is that the OPCACHE (Xcache, APC and Opcache) share the same memory and it is accessible between clients. Disabling access to stats and controlling api of them is available, but it's not a great solution for some critical cases. Still, this is not suitable when isolation between apps is critical.

Another reason is with php scripts that clients deploy. In…

The support of TLS v1.3 has been implemented in Plesk Obsidian and is  available only for RHEL 8, CentOS 8, Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu 20.04 and  Debian 10 because this protocol requires the version 1.1.1 of OpenSSL,  available on official repositories of the aforementioned OSes. Also, TLS  v1.3 support is enabled by default on all new Plesk installations on  these OSes. For all details please see this KB article:

Please allow "_domainkey" cname´s on Plesk.

  20. Allow email accounts to change their own Webmail/SMTP/POP3 passwords without creating a Plesk user

We have lots of staff members who need an email address, but should not have access to Plesk in any way at all. Currently, the only way for them to choose a password, is to choose one and tell the Plesk Administrator what that password is, and have the Plesk Administrator configure their password for them. This is extremely unsecure. Something as simple as a 'send password reset link' button in the Email account configuration would work. This button would send an email to that account, and allow the email user to click on the link to change their Webmail/SMTP/POP3…

No Plesk user account is needed to change the password of a mailbox. Instead, the user can login into his mailbox using webmail and change his password out of his webmail access. For example use Roundcube: Login to the mailbox in Roundcube, then click "Settings" > "Password" to change the password of the mailbox. The only requirement that this works is that the "Mail password change service" is allowed in the firewall, because password changes using a mailbox require a specific port. The port is open by default.
